Responsibilities
This
is the entry and training grade for this cadre. Work at this level will
involve;-
·
Organizing the operation and
maintenance of computer hardware,
·
Organization of design, development,
installation, configuration, upgrading and maintenance of software and
information systems;
·
Assisting the Computer Technologist
in the collection and preparation of teaching and research materials;
·
Assisting the computer technologist in
installing new software and upgrading the old software
·
Ensuring that the computer laboratory
and the computer equipment are clean and available
·
Any other duties as may be assigned
by the ICT Director.
Qualifications
·
A Diploma in Computer
Science/Information Technology/Electrical and Electronics engineering or its
equivalent from a recognized institution
·
Four (4) years’ work experience in a
relevant field.
·
A relevant Bachelor’s degree,
knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic Nav and professional certifications will be an
added advantage
Senior Computer Technologist

Job Description
An
officer at this level will initially work under the supervision of a more
experienced officer in the relevant field.
Responsibilities
·
Assisting the Systems Administrator
in organization, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of the
Servers and Networks.
·
Supervision of computer technologists
in the division/department.
·
Identifying training needs for
computer technologists in liaison with Maintenance & Operations Officer and
ICT Trainer.
·
Supervising repairs and maintenance
of ICT equipment in liason with the Maintenance & Operations Officer.
·
Supervising and compiling technical
systems documentation.
·
Supervising day-to-day systems
operation and control.
·
Assisting the Computer Programmer and
Information Systems Support officer in design, development, installation,
configuration and maintenance of software and information systems.
·
Any other duties as may be assigned
by the ICT Director.
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s degree in computer
Science/ Information Technology/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering or its
equivalent from a recognized institution
·
Five (5) years’ work experience in a
relevant field.
·
A Master’s degree, knowledge of
Microsoft Dynamic Nav. and professional certifications will be an added
advantage
Legal Officer

Responsibilities
Duties
and responsibilities at this level will involve drafting of legal documents and
handling cases involving the University in liaison with University external
lawyers and advising the University on all legal matters.
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s degree in law from a
recognized university
·
Be an advocate of the High Court of
Kenya with a current practicing certificate
·
Have 3 years’ experience in a similar
position or in legal practice
ICT Planning & Development Officer

Responsibilities
An
officer at this level will be responsible to a Deputy Director ICT in the
relevant field and duties at this level will entail;
·
Supervision and coordination of
procurement
·
Installation, testing and
commissioning of ICT computing systems (hardware and software) and data
communication systems
·
Supervision and coordination of the
development and maintenance of business application systems
·
Marketing and utilization of ICT
services in the university
·
Coordinate the ICT income generating
projects
·
Any other duties as may be assigned
by the ICT Director.
Qualifications
·
Masters degree in Computer Science/
Information Technology/ Electrical & Electronic Engineering or its
equivalent from a recognized institution.
·
Eight (8) years working experience in
a relevant field.
·
Masters degree, knowledge of
Microsoft Dynamic Nav, professional certifications will be an added advantage
·
A relevant PhD degree, knowledge of
University Management Information Systems.
·
Professional certifications will be
an added advantag
