Job description

Student Intern-Technical/Engineering Department
The purpose of the Student Attachment Program is to provide an opportunity for university and college students to become familiar with the operations of Kenya Airways, and to acquire work experience at a professional level through on-the-job training during vacations before resuming your studies.
During the internship, students shall be placed in one of the departments or units of the specified Kenya Airways department, and, to the extent possible, shall be given assignments relevant to their current studies. Before the end of the program, the interns must submit a brief report about their experience/ learning in Kenya Airways and provide ideas and suggestions that can help improve the Program in future years.
Requirements
To be eligible for the Program, you must be:
·         A citizen of Kenya
·         A student pursuing an undergraduate degree/College diploma in an accredited university/college, who will continue his/her graduate studies or graduate right after the period of the internship.
·         Have a minimum grade of B (plain) in KCSE or equivalent O’level certification
Conditions of Internship
·         Kenya Airways does not provide medical insurance cover for Interns. Those selected for internship will be required to submit proof of medical insurance while at Kenya Airways.
·         Since the hiring for the Internship Program is done locally, Kenya Airways does not pay transportation costs whatsoever.
·         Because Internship Program is addressed to students who are pursuing their degree programs or diploma programs, participation in the program will not extend beyond three (3) months.
·         Candidates afforded internship in the past by Kenya Airways are not eligible to apply

·         Letter from learning institution requesting for internship and confirming that this is part of the course requirement

Employee Engagement & Labor Relations Manager

Responsibilities

Research, develop, interpret and administer employee relations and welfare policies, processes and procedures to ensure promotion and maintenance of industrial harmony, fairness in the disciplinary processes and overall employee satisfaction.
Disciplinary Issues
·         Provide guidance where needed in all communication relating to discipline for all staff in order to ensure clarity of communication and the capturing of the right offence.
·         Prepare briefs on all disciplinary cases in the event of appeal against disciplinary action.
·         Provide advice on grievance and disciplinary procedures to ensure that emerging issues are resolved amicably and speedily to maintain industrial harmony.
·         Write disciplinary summary report for the Leadership Team in order to keep the business updated on the state of discipline in the company, handling of the disciplinary procedure and the speedy resolution of cases.
Employee Industrial and Legal relations
·         Hold engagement sessions with staff to address any labour relations issues or work issues
·         Position is the link between management, union and staff and provides logistics for the same to ensure good industrial relations
·         Ensure timely preparation of briefs in cases involving both serving and ex staff so as to protect the company position.
·         Participate in Collective Bargaining Agreements negotiations to protect company interests and enhance good industrial relations.
·         Provide advice and support to line managers on implementation of Collective Bargaining Agreements, staff rules and labor laws to maintain industrial harmony.
·         Arrange for witnesses and court attendance in cases involving employees or ex-employees against the Company
Employee Welfare
·         Develop, plan and implement staff welfare programs and initiatives in accordance with the company policies for purposes of enhancing positive employee relations climate that will improve productivity.
·         Plan and ensure company sports day is implemented successfully subject to budget.
·         Responsible for sourcing and managing the canteen provider in accordance with the public health cleanliness and safety standards.
·         To prepare, monitor and control Employee welfare budgets to ensure effective cost control.
·         Source for cost effective employee insurances and ensure speedy claim settlement.

Performance Analyst, E-Sales

Web Analytics Specialists is responsible for analyzing and publishing online data, such as search terms, conversation paths, and clickstreams, then making recommendations. Web analytics specialist should offer a solid understanding of user behaviour based on their analysis, and recommend new strategies based on information gained. In addition Web Analytics Specialist will work directly with e-sales force with (post-sale) activities focused on creating analytic funnel structures and attribution strategies.

Responsibilities

·         Lead all web analytics tracking initiatives; mainly using Google Analytics: Generate tracking code (standard/custom), troubleshoot existing implementation, and use Google Tag Manager to implement for products and services

·         Guide business thru complex technical implementation such as: code, pixels, analytics setup and other technical components to ensure all sales campaigns are set up in accordance with campaign goals
·         Analyze visitor level data to understand user behaviour across devices (mobile, tablet, and desktop) and marketing channels (Earned, Paid Search, Display, Direct, Social, and Referrals).
·         Report on the state of the various E-commerce channels and channels that drive demand, including catalog and direct mail (i.e. trends and performance compared to previous year and plan).
·         Analyze variance in KPI’s versus plan and conduct cost-benefit analysis of new initiatives being evaluated for potential implementation. Monitor and report on results for E-commerce tests.
·         Lead analysis of the cross-channel sales experience and partner cross-functionally to identify new opportunities for improved customer experience and increased efficiencies.

Requirements

Responsibilities

This role will act as a consultant to the functional business unit leader as well as provide guidance and support to the allocated departments across all areas on human resources matters. In liaison with the Principal HRB Partner act as employee’s champion and change agent, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs and communicating them proactively with the HR department and Business Units.
·         Function as an internal consultant to management and function employees by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, proposing solutions, and understanding/representing the employee perspective.
·         In liaison with the Principal HR Business Partner, provide HR guidance and support to the allocated business units across a breadth of areas including talent management, employee development, performance management, change management and employee relations.
·         In liaison with the Principal HR Business Partner / Head of HR Business Partners facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions and work with the business units to ensure plans are actively put into practice.
·         Assist with labor relations initiatives, assuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement as well the company rules and regulations.
·         Using the approved manpower plan, recruit for the vacant positions.
·         Prepare Business function Human Resource forecasts in consultation with Principal HR Business Partner and Business Unit Heads in scoping and justification of proposed and existing roles in line with the business strategy by recommending optimal staff establishment.
·         Support the development of Talent management within the Business Unit by enabling the Business Unit to attract, retain and motivate talent.
·         Coordinating and facilitating the entire process of performance management, ensuring timely submission of reports and their analysis within the allocated business unit.
·         Champion and enforce labour laws as constituted within the country and the company’s policies.
·         Frequently support and advice on Human Resources challenges and issues facing the business units.
·         In liaison with business unit heads and Principal HR Business Partner, ensure that leave plans are in place and are adhered to.
·         Interpretation of the policies and procedures and assess compliance by all employees within the business unit. (Advise managers and employees on disciplinary issues and procedures).

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant field.
·         Holder of a Post graduate diploma in HR.
·         Registered Member of Institute of Human Resource Management (HRM).
·         Must hold a valid HR practicing certificate
·         At least 5 years of HR generalist or relevant experience
·         Experience in general HR processes, such as behavioral interviewing, candidate evaluation, employee relations, compensation and knowledge of current labor laws
·         Must be able to communicate effectively through writing and oral presentations.
·         Must relate well to people and work in cooperation with others effectively to coordinate activities and accomplish goals
·         Ability to work both independently and as a team member; must interact with all levels of employees and management
·         Must be able to prioritize and complete a high volume of work, manage multiple projects/ assignments and coordinate requests to successful completion
