GIS Technical
Responsibilities
·
Will be involved in planning
exercises to develop base maps, maps and land use plans
·
Gather, analyse and integrate spatial
data for planning purposes
·
Compile geographic data from a
variety of sources including censuses, field observation & picking,
satellite imagery, aerial photography and existing maps
·
Prepare digital maps through
digitization of existing map records
·
Operate and maintain GIS system hardware,
software, plotter, printer and GPS
·
Store and retrieve relevant maps
·
Undertake other such duties as may be
required
Qualifications
·
Be a holder of at least a Diploma in
Geo informatics/ Cartography/ GIS;
·
Have formal training in GIS and
possess strong GIS skills with GIS software
·
Be computer literate
·
Have hands on experience with GIS of
not less than 6 months
Physical Planner
Responsibilities
·
Preparation of local physical
development plans for towns, local centres, market centres, trading centres as
well as village land use plans.
·
Preparation of action plans for
specific projects such as residential housing schemes.
·
Undertaking development control and
ensuring compliance of approved plans.
·
Collecting and analysing urban and
regional physical planning data.
·
Providing advice on development
applications.
·
Managing of physical planning records
Qualifications
·
Have a Bachelors degree in Urban and
Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Town Planning or Regional Planning from a
recognized institution OR A higher National Diploma in urban as regional
planning, urban planning ,Town planning or regional
planning from a recognized institution within an experience of six (6) years.

Be graduate member of Kenya Institute
of Planners (KIP) or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter)
·
Have a certificate in relevant
computer application skills from recognized institution.

Show basic understanding of

Demonstrate a high degree of
professional and technical competence as reflected in work
performance and results

GIS Analyst
Responsibilities
·
Develop, maintain and update GIS data
·
Coordinate and update cadastral
information
·
Create maps, graphs and diagrams
using GIS software and related equipment

Accurately add and edit GIS data into
existing maps and plans
·
Undertake Other such duties as may be
required
Qualifications
·

Planning Enforcement Officers
Responsibilities
·
Auditing of new and existing
development to assess compliance with approved physical development plans and
conditions of planning approvals
·
Undertake regular site visits to
ensure land use and development does commence without requisite approvals
·
Preparing regular site reports on the
status of development and adherence to approved plans and development approval
conditions
·
Receive and investigate complaints
relating to breach of development approval conditions
·
Delivering of appropriate notices to
developers advising the submission of appropriate documentation
·
Giving advice to developers, private
individuals and prospective applicants on planning matters
·
Undertake other such duties as may be
required or instructed by the Chief Officer.
Qualification
·
Hold a Diploma in Environmental
Studies or Building and Construction or Cartography or Social Studies.
·
Be computer literate with minimum
capabilities to operate word processing applications, Internet and e – mail.
Surveyor
Responsibilities
·
Undertake different types of survey
(engineering, topographical, general boundary, and cadastral) on land
parcels/plots
·
Boundary identification
·
Resolve boundary disputes
·
Re-establish position of fixed
boundary /Beaconing
·
Compile computation files for survey
data/Preparation of survey file
·
Preparation of Base Maps (picking of
physical structures, features and infrastructure)
Qualifications
·
Hold a Diploma in Land Surveying.
·
Be good intercommunication skills;
computer proficiency,
·
Be conversant with the land laws and
modern technologies in the surveying.
Forester
Responsibilities
·
Conserve the County, private and
community forests in the Sub-county
·
Supervise forest extension services
in the Sub-County
·
Monitor the ecological health of
county managed forests
·
Rehabilitate county managed forests
in the sub-county
·
Undertake tree planting and tree
growing in the sub-county
·
Maintain data on sub-county
forest/tree cover
·
Manage forest boundaries for county
and community forests in the Sub-County
·
Identify and keep records of charcoal
producers and transporters in the sub-county
·
Identify and register charcoal
collection centres
·
Ensure compliance in the charcoal
production and transportation activities in the SubCounty
·
Organise sensitization and awareness
creation meetings for forest related activities in the sub-county
·
Support communities to establish
nature-based entrepreneurs
Qualifications
To qualify for appointment one
should;
·
Hold a Bachelors Degree in Forestry,
Environmental studies, Ecological studies,Agricultural Education or
Agricultural Extension.
·
Have good public relations and
computer proficiency
Forest Extension Officer
Responsibilities
·
Develop and manage tree nurseries
(both indigenous and exotic commercial trees)
·
Educate farmers in best practices as
far as tree planting and tree growing are concerned.
·
Support farmers with technical needs
in tree growing and marketing
·
Develop farmer field schools and
demonstration centres for tree nursery and tree growing activities
·
Address emerging issues in the tree
planting and tree growing activities
·
Develop innovative solutions to tree
growing challenges in different sites.
·
Maintain data on the tree growing
groups, preferred trees for growing, the numbers of
·
trees planted and varied experiences
in the tree growing process
·
Develop training materials useful for
tree planting and tree growing activities
·
Conduct basic trainings for farmers
in tree planting and tree growing
Qualifications
·
Diploma in Forest Extension or
Agricultural Extension.
·
Strong understanding of the local
area floral ecology,
·
Good public relations and computer
proficiency.
