Accountant
Our client a telecommunications company in Kenya is currently
seeking to hire an accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for
consistency and best practice is developed and maintained across the function,
proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and
performance across the team.
Roles
·
Management of timely and accurate
preparation of all financial, management and external reporting requirements
·
Support the delivery of all
compliance requirements (including statutory audits, financial statements
completion, overseeing VAT and Corporate Tax computations, etc.)
·
Completion of external audits
ensuring plans to address any control weaknesses.
·
Preparation of company balance sheet
and bank reconciliations to ensure clean balance sheet with strong review
process, governance and controls
·
Responsible for preparation of
journals, accruals and prepayments
·
Ensuring the completion of the
Balance Sheet reconciliations each month as prepared by Accounts
·
Assistant and the timely resolution
of reconciling items
·
Responsible for all Revenue returns
to ensure full compliance is adhered to, including VAT
·
Monthly review and completion of cash
flow
·
Implement control enhancements based
on external audit report
·
Establish and maintain and
co-ordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures in line with
company policies.
·
Analyze revenue and expenditure
trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and insure expenditure
controls.
·
Supervise controlled input and
handling of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial
systems.
Requirements
·
Bachelor’s Degree in business related
field Accounting/ Finance option
·
Professional Accountancy
qualification; CPA/ ACCA certified
·
2-3 years accounting experience in
the corporate industry
·
Must be proficient in SAP
·
Knowledge of French is an added
advantage
