Architectural
Assistant

The
Role: Reporting to the Manager Technical
Services, the Architectural Assistant will be responsible for the overall
preparation of preliminary and final architectural designs and details of given
projects.
Key
Responsibilities:
·
Undertake accurate drawings for
buildings and development projects
·
Produce Engineering drawings (e.g.
Mechanical, Electrical & Structural drawings)
·
Prepare and maintain systematic
archiving of drawings by indexing, categorizing and cataloguing
·
Supervise all civil works and
certification of the same
·
Prepare comprehensive specifications
and Bills of Quantities for all construction works
·
Ensure that the materials used in the
repairs and maintenance of all construction works meets the recommended
standards
·
Submit monthly reports on the works
/projects undertaken
·
Prepare various projection coverage
maps to assist in the designs of the Transmitters.
Minimum
Requirements:
·
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
/Architectural Technology with two (2) years experience i.e. (1 year in the
design of projects and 1 year in construction administration)Higher National
Diploma in Architectural Technology with five (5) years experience i.e. (3
years in the design of projects and 2 years in construction administration)

Manager, Technical Services

1 Position
The Role: Reporting to the Managing Director, the Technical Services
Manager will be responsible for
·
facilitating high quality maintenance
of radio and television broadcasts, broadcast equipment/systems and related
facilities owned or operated by KBC;
·
supporting the daily production and
operations of the KBC radio and television network, including audio and video
production, staff support and training, on-air studio operations and automation
systems; and also
·
overseeing the strategic direction of
broadcast technologies and system, their acquisition, deployment, use and
post-implementation.
Specific Terms: Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Management of KBC broadcast and
technical services resources; planning for their acquisition, implementation
and optimal utilization /operation
·
Overseeing the strategic development
and improvement of broadcasting systems, their maintenance and decommissioning
·
Planning and scheduling of all
activities in Technical Services Department and ensuring they are completed
within specified deadlines and budgets
·
Preparation and approval of technical
services specifications to be used in the procurement of the required Engineering
facilities
·
Ensuring efficient, effective and
timely implementation of Engineering projects in the Department
·
Development, implementation and
review technical services policies, procedures, standards and master plans
·
Conducting staff performance appraisals
and coordinating continuous improvement initiatives in the Department
·
Responsible for the overall
discipline and performance of the staff in the Department
·
Preparing budgets for Technical
Services department
·
Monitoring and optimizing the
performance of engineering technical facilities.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational and Professional Requirements
·
Bachelor of Science degree in
Telecommunication / Electronics Engineering, Broadcast Engineering or its
equivalent from a recognized institution
·
Master’s degree in the relevant field
will be an added advantage
·
Must be a registered member of
Engineering Registration Board of Kenya or any other recognized Engineering
Body.
Minimum Experience
·
At least ten (10) years practical
experience in a broadcasting environment and conversant with media legislation,
digital broadcast, multimedia /web services, convergence of technologies and
technological trends in the broadcasting industry
·
Must have worked in a senior
management position for at least three (3) years and overseeing the operations
of key systems in a similar organization in size to KBC
·
Have demonstrated a high standard of
professional competence and administrative ability required for direction and
coordination of planning, development and maintenance of engineering technical
facilities
·
Must be computer literate.
Brand Managers

SS BE 4 (1 Post –TV Services; 1 Post-
Radio Services)
The Role: Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful
applicants will be responsible for the overall Development and Management of
Radio and Television Brands with the aim of achieving and maintaining
leadership positions in the market.
Specific Terms: Three (3) years renewable contract based on positive
performance output.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and Implement annual brand
plans to achieve set targets.
·
Ensure Brand profitability is
achieved through optimal management of resources.
·
Collect, Analyze & Prepare brand
reports and conduct competitive market analysis.
·
Develop and Implement Brand Communication
Strategies.
·
Liaise with External Agencies in
developing and implementing Brand Strategies.
·
Plan and Coordinate Market Research
activities.
·
Identify and Initiate Brand
Improvements to meet changing market needs
·
Responsible for New Product(s)
Development
·
Utilize Consumer-driven Insights to
drive long-term growth of the Brands
Education Requirements:
·
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce
(Marketing option) or related field from a recognized University
·
Masters Degree (Marketing option)
will be an added advantage.
Professional Requirements:
·
Strong understanding of brand
management
·
Must be able to work collaboratively
with Agencies and Internal resources to build brand equity
·
Post-Graduate Diploma in marketing
preferred.
Minimum Experience:
·
Must have served in a Brand
Management position for at least five (5) years with demonstrable professional
ability in a large and busy organization.
Radio Programmes Manager

1 Position
The Role: Reporting to the Managing Director, the Radio Programmes
Manager will be responsible for developing, directing and controlling the
vision, mission, goals, strategies, policies and processes for Radio Department
in line with radio market dynamics and KBC Corporate strategies, targets,
obligations, regulations and approved procedures.
Specific Terms: Three (3) years renewable contract based on positive
performance output.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Setting Departmental goals,
performance targets, positioning strategies and work plans for the Department
in line with Corporate strategic plan, Board and Management resolutions and
other public interest, commercial and listener strategic considerations
·
Interpreting and enforcing Corporate
goals and strategies within the Department
·
Formulating and implementing approved
Radio programmes and Radio Stations strategic plans
·
Principal accounting and advising
officer on all radio matters within the Department
·
Budgeting and Accounting for the
Departmental expenditure
·
Facilitating Radio broadcasts and
programme services
·
Formulating and implementing approved
Radio Services proposals, concepts, pilots and programmes based on budget
projections, value and relevance of the idea, its conformity to Editorial
policy and station style as well as availability of required resources
·
Conducting staff performance
appraisals and coordinating continuous improvement initiatives in the
Department
·
Responsible for the overall
discipline and performance of staff in the Department.

Minimum Experience
·
Ten (10) years working experience.
Must have served in the position of Assistant Radio Programmes Manager or its
equivalent for at least three (3) years; OR as Station Manager or its
equivalent for a period of five (5) years or its equivalent in a reputable
broadcast media organization of similar size to KBC
·
Must be conversant with contemporary
and future trends and dynamics of broadcast media industry.
