Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) is a voluntary charitable non governmental organization, registered in Kenya as a non-profit organization in 1993. 

The AJIRI DADA Project (ADAP), is a recent award to AMURT under the Dreams Innovation Challenge. The project targets to keep adolescent girls and young women HIV negative by providing bridge to employment. 

The primary focus is 2000 marginalized girls at risk of contracting HIV living in 8 informal settlements of Nairobi Sub County-Nairobi county. 

The project seeks to fill the following vacant position:

Project Administrative Assistants 


(1 Post)

Responsibilities
  • S/he will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth implementation of the project.
  • S/he will prepare administrative support for project and partners meetings, and workshops.
  • Support the accountant in preparing and maintaining project assets register.
  • S/he will compile meeting minutes, reports and ensure safe filling and project information storage for ease of retrieval when needed.
  • S/he will also ensure effective logistical support in vehicle management to adequately serve the staff in their field needs.
  • support the project staff by ensuring the activities requirements are availed on time.
  • H/she will also be required to support the manager in preparing and filling of reports.
  • S/he will also be required to carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in project management or business administration with 3 years of experience.

Project M& E Officer


Responsibilities
  • S/he will maintain data and records on all technical component of recruitment and selecting, training and placement of the girls in the project.
  • Oversee and execute project activities with particular focus on results and impacts as well as lessons learnt.
  • The M&E Officer will support the M&E Manager in leading the overall Strategic information.
  • S/he will work with the project team in all aspects of the program.
  • S/ he will provide onsite mentoring and skills-building initiatives at both headquarters and field levels on SI issues.
  • Support development and review of project M&E framework.
  • Providing technical assistance to the project and stakeholders on the program.
  • facilitating sustainable M&E skills transfers to project staff and partners.
  • S/he will establish a realistic, accurate and cost-effective project M&E work plan and strategy.
  • Designing M&E systems/work practices that facilitate accurate and complete reports with relevant authorities to provide and share data.
  • Highly knowledgeable in adolescent sexual reproductive health and HIV prevention.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social statistics or related discipline with at least 4 years of experience in M&E work.

Project Accountant


Responsibilities
  • The project accountant will support the Finance and Grants Manager by directly supporting to provide financial reviews as well as monthly/ quarterly partner’s expenditure from the program.
  • S/he will support capacity building on financial compliance to the project staff.
  • compile financial documents to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for project stock and asset management.
  • S/he will prepare and submit timely partner reports based on program activities.
  • Analyze expenditure and provide budget reviews.
  • S/he will support to project manager by providing monthly budget updates.
  • The accountant will support AMURT Finance and grants manager in facilitating the project audit.
  • Facilitate the finance manager and project team with budget preparation.
  • Maintain the project transactions and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure project staff payroll is maintained in compliance with the statutory requirements.
S/he will also be required to carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/ accounting with 5 years of experience in project accounting.
  • Must be a certified accountant for the last three years.
  • Knowledge and experience working in donor funded projects.

Project Field Officers

Responsibilities
  • The PFO will be responsible for the recruitment, engagement and day to day supervision of the peer educators.
  • Assist the project officer by being responsible for direct implementation in the informal settlements within Nairobi County together with other officers from implementing partners.
  • They will be directly involved in recruitment and selection of the beneficiaries in the project.
  • S/he will collect and keep records on all technical component of recruitment and selection, training, placement, support groups and savings records of project beneficiaries.
  • Be responsible for supervision of the girls at work place, in collaboration with JAZZA Centre.
  • support formation and strengthening of savings and investment groups for the beneficiaries.
  • Support JAZZA Centre in addressing issues raised through the toll free line.
  • S/he will be support the project officer in ensuring that the beneficiaries are linked to safety nets programs.
  • Additionally, the team will collect and submit progress reports.
  • support and mentor peer educators in executing project activities.
  • Support the manager together with the project officer in improving site record keeping and reporting, maintaining site quality improvement measures and processes.

Project Officer (Training)

Responsibilities
  • The PO will be in charge of the day to day operations of the field officers.
  • Be in charge of the recruitment and selection of the girls with support of the field officers.
  • Coordinate the training program in collaboration with key project partners.
  • S/he will be involved in training curriculum development, implementation and review in liaison with key partners.
  • S/he will oversee, coordinate and monitor placement of the girls in the project upon successful completion of training.
  • S/he will support the team in developing and implementing the technical strategies for the Project.
  • Additionally, s/he will support the team to write periodic progress reports.
  • Supervise and mentor the field officers and the peer educators in delivery of quality results.
  • S/he will be responsible in ensuring that the beneficiaries are linked to safety nets programs.
  • Ensuring the beneficiaries contracts are adhered to, and their retention to employment enhanced.
  • Support the program manager in sensitizing and encouraging the beneficiaries to the model of saving and investing.

Project Manager

Responsibilities 

Reporting to AMURT programs manager, AJIRI DADA project manager will:
  • Provide overall supervision and leadership for program implementation.
  • Oversees day to day running of the technical components of the project.
  • Responsible for implementing key project activities of selection, recruitment, training and placement of the AGYW to the project.
  • Provide guidance to project team in development, compliance and implementation of detailed technical work plans.
  • Responsible for project documentation including success stories, lessons learnt and technical report writing as per donor requirements.
  • Oversees proper site record keeping.
  • Ensures the establishment of project quality improvement measures and processes.
  • Spearheads the development of project training curriculum and reviews.
  • Coordinates all project trainings by assigned contractors and ensures all trainings are completed as scheduled.
  • Ensures organizational policies and procedures are adhered to within project implementation.
  • Responsible for sensitizing and encouraging the beneficiaries to embrace the project model of savings and investments.
  • Organizes and chairs project team meetings on a weekly basis or as and when required
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical or social sciences (community dev, sociology, social work) with 7 years of experience in project management or
  • Master’s degree in health, project management or social science with at least 4 years’ project work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable girls and young women especially in informal settlements will be an added advantage.
  • Strong writing, lobbying, fundraising, and communication skills.
  • Evidence of previously compiling quality donor project reports, case studies and success stories.
  • High level of integrity, values, ethics and competence.
