General Motors East Africa (GMEA) is the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in the East African region. 

Our manufacturing plant in Nairobi assembles a wide range of Isuzu trucks and buses and also distributes fully built Chevrolet passenger vehicles. 

With more than fifteen Isuzu models, our plant’s output has enabled GMEA stamp its authority in the vehicle manufacturing, sales and service industry right across East and Central Africa.

GM Difference! and Customer Relations Manager 

Ref: CD/HRBP/001

Reporting to the General Manager, Channel Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Manage training, roll out and implementation of GM Difference! (GMD!) standards to GMEA and its dealers.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of GMD! Implementation.
  • Manage the GMD! Reward framework in line with customer care programs.
  • Institutionalize customer management, retention and support processes in all dealerships.
  • Champion customer retention and enthusiasm.
  • Conducting post booking follow-up (PBF).
  • Regular update of bulletin at the dealerships.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction through customer satisfaction and related surveys.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or any business related field.
  • Professional qualifications in Customer Relations.

Regional Sales Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, Sales & Marketing, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Implement policies and procedures developed by GMEA to uphold brand reputation and create a conducive business environment.
  • Develop annual dealer business plan and set monthly sales targets.
  • Formulate monthly vehicle ordering forecasts with dealer participation.
  • Work out marketing initiatives aimed at sales, service and parts business growth.
  • Enforce high standards for dealership premises and facility maintenance.
  • Build and nurture strong dealership teams and help dealer management retain talent.
  • Assess trends and recommend actions to optimize customer satisfaction levels and dealership profitability.
  • Monitor working capital availability by analysing cash flows.
  • Develop and sustain customer loyalty and retention programs within the assigned territory.
  • Provide a monthly report on assigned dealerships and territorial market information.

Sales Manager, Parts and Accessories

Reporting to the General Manager, Aftersales the successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Preparation and execution of annual Parts and Accessories (P&A) business plans.
  • Formulate sales policies and procedures for P&A.
  • Manage P&A product line to meet corporate objectives.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
  • P&A distribution to dealers and fleet customers.
  • Coordination of company resources to realize efficient and stable sales results.

  • Overall management and administration of the parts warehousing function i.e. inventory management, logistics and warehousing.
  • Preparing and submitting aftersales monthly operational metrics.
  • Manage the periodic stock count, receiving and issuance processes.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient and effective sourcing, ordering, logistics and stocking of parts.
  • Identify and implement strategies aimed at maintaining a lean warehouse.

  • Co-ordinate product and technical training.

  • Five years hands on experience in a busy motor vehicle repair workshop.

Government Sales Executive

Reporting to the Government & Fleet Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Effective sales prospecting within Government institutions and parastatals.
  • Provide accurate forecasting to assist in developing initiatives towards increasing sales and market penetration.
  • Execute and meet sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Monitor and understand annual Government budget estimates, procurement policies and procedures.
  • Attend tender openings, submit, analyze results, monitor, participate and prepare all relevant tenders with stakeholders.
  • Gather and report competitive information to take advantage of opportunities within the assigned segment.
  • Prepare quotations, presentations and product specifications based on customer requirements.

  • Develop production process layouts and define operation methods.
  • Prepare and maintain production assembly instructions and material distribution lists.
  • Develop and maintain production work and high workplace organization standards.
  • Define production processes, identify critical processes and develop necessary process controls.

Reporting to the Product Planning, Engineering & Bodybuilding Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Facilitate the interaction between Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing & Supply chain departments and suppliers in terms of local content development and the applicable general procedures.
  • Ensure that local content components approval is obtained for components that are sourced from local suppliers, where deemed necessary.
  • Provide input into all new business sourcing decisions affecting suppliers.
  • Measure, report and correct supplier quality performance.
  • Develop and confirm supplier capability by means of applying acceptable tools.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive action reports, lodged with suppliers, are effectively addressed.
