Role Summary: The Financial Accountant is in charge of the smooth
running of all onsite accounting operations.
Qualifications / Requirements
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business
management, economics or related field
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a
busy multinational environment
- CPA or ACCA qualified
- Hands on experience with accounting software.
Experience with SUN systems is an added advantage
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Job Specification
- Have a good understanding of the company’s
policies and procedure and ensure strict adherence in the day to day
activities.
- Strict adherence to Global Financial Standards
(GFS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Prepare and pass all the accounting entries in
SUN systems and PeopleSoft at month end (including the communication about
the recharges)
- Maintain the local chart of accounts in line
with Global Chart Of Accounts (GCOA)
- Analyze assigned balance sheet accounts on a
monthly basis
- Day to day routine related to the operation in
the country
- Payments / transfers to suppliers and
employees as per the assigned payment run (twice a month)
- Review of employees expense vouchers
- Ensure adequate documentation while verifying
and processing all supplier invoices and employee expense vouchers.
- Ensure proper accruals are in place
- Petty cash maintenance
- Maintain fixed assets register & physical
count
