MicroSave is a market leader in providing consulting services to retail financial service providers globally.

Our clients include leading retail banks, mobile money service providers, MFIs/MFBs, SACCOs/Credit Unions and multilateral and bi-lateral donors.

With increasing demand for our services, MicroSave intends to recruit three executives to join its consulting team in Kenya.

Job Description: The executives will provide technical advice, support and training to the wide range of retail financial service providers in one of the specialist areas listed below:

Strategic Marketing Executive

Responsible for training and technical support in corporate brand strategy, product marketing strategy and customer service strategy.

This involves conducting market research (image analysis, product usage and preference analysis, customer experience/satisfaction research); assessment of human resources, processes and systems capabilities to effectively manage the marketing and customer service functions, training and development of practical solutions to strengthen the marketing and customer services functions.

2. Microfinance & Banking Executive

Responsible for training and technical support in banking operations, credit management and financial product development.

This involves conducting market research to understand needs and preferences of financial service consumers; developing financial products and services and related operational processes; staff training on product development process, process mapping and re-engineering, credit operations, and deposit mobilisation; conducting institutional assessments and providing practical solutions to strengthen the credit and banking operations.

Required Competencies and Experience

Experience:
  • Atleast six (6) years’ work experience in the respective specialist areas at middle management level or above.
  • Experience in business development and client relationship management.
  • Experience and ability to write high quality reports.

Qualities:
  • A high quality of written and spoken English
  • Strong field orientation and proven inter personal skills
  • A high degree of self-drive, enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Diligence and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A strong professional demeanour

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Supervisory / managerial skills
  • High analytical capability and report writing skills
  • Additional working language besides English and Swahili is an advantage.
  • Highly developed computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Education
  • A minimum of a Masters level degree (or higher) in Banking/Business Administration/ Marketing / Accounting/ Economics / Sociology or related field.
  • Other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.

Location: Based in Nairobi but with upto 40% travel within Africa.

Salary: Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
