Key Accountabilities
- Execution
of competitive buying of all raw materials in line with planning schedules
and business requirements. Lead and manage competitive purchasing of all
Non Production spend – including but not limited to maintenance project
purchases, marketing purchases, procurement of services leading to
improvement in Supply chain efficiency and to deliver competitive costs
whilst adhering to working capital targets, evaluating and communicating
gaps in supply that may cause service failures.
- Build
supplier relationship programs and measure supplier performance using set
(KPI’s – lead times, conformance, rejections, price adherence amongst
others)
- Identify
risks and opportunities within the supply chain relating to supplier
performance and frame issues to enable best for business decisions to
identify future decision making, supplier profiling to achieve best in
class supply chain efficiencies and growth.
- Expedite
smooth flow of Imports & Exports processes, including PVoC programs,
clearing, documentation, and adherence to set legal requirements relating
to import and exportation of goods.
- Lead
and manage overall operations at the raw materials stores – guiding the
teams on best practices in inventory control, and general stores
operations and drive compliance and adherence to QEHS laid down polices as
relates to L&CO besides managing scrapped /obsolete goods disposal
with approved NEMA and council approved agents.
- Ensure
all GIT are captured timely for accurate reporting and inter-company
balance confirmations besides managing cost centre 150
- Participate
in All projects within the organization and ensure all Governmental
trade licences are applied for and up-to date at all times
- As
an individual contributor know the ethical and legal compliance
responsibilities of the position; raise questions and concerns when faced
with an ethical or compliance issue; apply integrity in all aspects of
professional conduct.

- Business
Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain etc from a recognized
University;
- 5
years’ experience in Purchasing and supplies management;
- A
full member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management {KISM} or
similar professional body such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and
Supplies {CIPS}
- Good
knowledge and understanding of clearing and forwarding processes.
- Excellent
negotiation skills;
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills working with, and influencing all
levels within the organization;
- Knowledge
of international trade requirements;
- Excellent
computer skills supported by strong numerical skills;
- Team
player, with organized work approach and good communication skills
