Title: National Professional Officer - HIV/AIDS

Applications are hereby invited from suitable Kenya nationals to fill the above post.
Terms of Reference:
Under the supervision of the WHO Country Representative - Kenya and in liaison with WHO Country Team Leader on HIV/AIDS the incumbent will provide technical assistance to the two Kenya ministries of health, local NGOs and private sector on HIV/AIDS matters.
  • Development of service delivery tools and materials for health sector HIV prevention interventions based on WHO generic materials.
  • Development of appropriate health service delivery frameworks for effective delivery of essential HIV prevention interventions in the health sector including integration of HIV prevention interventions into clinical care services.
  • Monitoring of HIV prevention interventions irr the health sector and sharing of information with partners.
  • Building capacity of provinces and districts to implement national guidelines and tools as well as monitor their implementation.
  • Facilitation of ongoing coordination and liaison with development partners on HIV prevention acceleration.
Qualification/Knowledge:
  • First University degree in medicine or other health sciences profession.
Desirable
  • Post graduate qualifications in public health or health management.
Language:
  • Excellent written and spoken English and working knowledge of French Good command of Kiswahili would be an asset.
Experience: 

Essential: 5 years working experience at national or provincial level in planning, coordinating, monitoring, managing HIV/AIDS program in the health sector.
Desirable: Experience in working with multilateral or other non-profit international organization in health development.
