Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) was
established under the Sacco Societies Act, CAP 490B with a mandate to license,
regulate and supervise the Sacco Sector in Kenya. The Authority is seeking to
recruit two (2) dynamic, resilient and honest professionals
with excellent communication skills to fill the position of Drivers
(SASRA 9). The suitable candidate shall be employed on permanent and
pensionable terms of service.
Role Summary
Responsible for driving the Authority’s vehicles as
authorized by providing safe, reliable and timely transportation of staff and
authorized goods and maintenance of assigned vehicles to support realization of
the Authority’s mandate in compliance with the Traffic Act.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the Authority’s vehicle as authorized;
Maintain clear and effective communication with passengers and relevant personnel ensuring any changes to schedules or routes are communicated promptly and clearly;
Ensuring the vehicle road worthiness and other
statutory compliance;
Undertake daily routine inspection of allocated
vehicles, carrying out minor maintenance services, including oiling;
Monitor service and repair schedules of motor
vehicles, recognize and report any defects and mechanical defaults to the
relevant authorities;
Maintain accurate records of motor vehicle
utilization, trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant
information required for reporting purposes;
Keep custody of Authority daily work tickets, fuel
cards and update fuel records for assigned motor vehicles;
Report incidences and accidents to police and the
office immediately they occur;
Coordinate general cleanliness and safety of motor
vehicles on and off the road as per the OSHA Act as guided;
Prepare and submit reports on transport when the need
arises;
Manage and resolve complaints from stakeholders;
Display the utmost professionalism, discretion, and
confidentiality when interacting with passengers and while being privy to
sensitive information or conversations; and
Promote National values and Principles of Governance
in the conduct of duties.
Develop, implement and review individual work plan in
line with the department’s performance targets;
Implement risk management policy and strategies;
Implement corruption prevention and mitigation
strategies activities;
Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical
practices and good citizenship; and
Implement citizen service delivery charter.
Job Specifications
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade
D+ (Plus) or its approved equivalent qualification.
Valid driving license free from any current
endorsements and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is
required to drive.
Certificate of suitability trade test for drivers.
Occupational Trade Tests II/I for Drivers.
First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than
one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution.
Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile
Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other
recognized institution.
Demonstrated outstanding professional competence in
work performance and results.
Proficiency in computer applications; and
Certification in Automotive engineering or its
equivalent will be an added advantage;
