Initiation of timely dimensioning, purchase, repair, replacement, and delivery of the Safaricom network spare parts to the warehouse and pick-up & drop-off depots.
Proactive identification and re-use of decommissioned and recovered equipment as network spare parts.
Management & control of the movement of all spare parts within the Safaricom network in coordination with spare parts management Vendor, Supply Chain Management and Logistics teams.
Maintenance of spare parts inventory stock list as required by various teams across the Safaricom network.
Enforcement of Service Level Agreements for the Spare parts Management Contract.
Warranty administration & tracking of all Safaricom network spare parts.
Timely reporting of the Safaricom network spare parts management activities.
Responsibilities
- Spare
Parts dimensioning
- Establish
a summarized and categorized database of the actual installed base for all
Safaricom GSM,3G,4G, 5G, Transmission network and enterprise network
installations.
- Efficient
and accurate spare parts dimensioning for all existing Safaricom
GSM,3G,4G, 5G, Transmission network.
- Spare
Parts Purchase, Repair and Replacement
- Initiate
requisitions for timely purchase, repair and replacement of Safaricom
network spare parts.
- Ensure
timely and accurate processing of purchase orders (POs) for new spare
parts, and repair & replacement of used spare parts.
- Proactively
ensure purchase and delivery of adequate project spare parts for all new
network elements.
- Spare
Parts contract management and warranty administration.
- Coordinate
weekly engagements of the Spare Parts Management Services (SPMS) provider,
spare parts Suppliers and Stakeholders; reporting and follow up on actions
arising.
- Ensure
compliance with SPMS contract Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by all spare
parts suppliers/partners.
- Prepare
and follow up on all warranty claims with the spare parts original
equipment manufacturers (OEMs) & SPMS providers.
- Coordinate
quarterly and annual performance evaluation of the network spare parts
management services (SPMS) provider.
- Accountability
for network spare parts availability in the warehouses and regional spare
parts depots.
- Weekly
and monthly spare parts tracking and reporting.
- Enforcement
of spare parts management contract service level agreements (SLAs).
- Management
& control of all spare parts movement within the Safaricom network in
coordination with SPMS provider and Supply Chain Management (SCM)/
logistics teams.
- Proactive
identification and re-use of decommissioned and recovered equipment as
network spare parts.
- Ensure
timely delivery and availability of the Safaricom network spare parts to
the right warehouses and pick-up & drop-off depots
Qualifications
- A
minimum of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical &
electronics Engineering, Telecommunication engineering, Computer, IT, or
related field.
- Should
have at least 5 years’ experience working in field Operations,
Maintenance, and support of the telecommunication network.
- Project
Management Certification, especially Agile Methodology.
