Key Account Manager Job in Kenya

Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with key retail clients to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty. Act as the main point of contact for all matters concerning the accounts.
  • Account Growth Strategy: Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets. Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products.
  • Understanding Client Needs: Anticipate client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements for both the company and the retail client.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate efforts to resolve any issues or concerns raised by clients while working closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer support.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct an industry trend, market conditions, competitor activities, and technological advancements analysis that may impact key accounts and make recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of account activity, sales forecasts, and customer interactions using CRM software or other tools. Analyze data to track performance metrics, identify trends, and measure the success of account strategies.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, advocating for their needs and priorities. Champion customer-centric initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of products, services, and processes.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Line Manager or H.O.D.

Skills And Experiences


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or any business related.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales principles and customer behavior.
  • Creative flair and an eye for detail to create visually appealing displays.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and store staff.
  • Knowledge of current market trends and competitor activities in the retail industry
