Inventory & Stores Manager Job in Kenya

We are seeking a Inventory & Stores Manager to manage the inventory, policies and procedures related to inventory control. He/ She will take steps to decrease the excess inventory as well as ensure that enough stock is available to meet the planning requirements.

As the Inventory & Stores Manager, he/ she is responsible for designing an inventory management plan that will help in streamlining the orders received thereby reducing unnecessary wastage of valuable time. He/she is to ensure the stock items are kept safe and track the sales figures, ensuring the accuracy of inventories in the system, etc.

Key Responsibilities


  • Reporting on operations to senior management.
  • Ensuring the safe operation of all stores.
  • Ensuring that the stores are compliant with OHS requirements.
  • Ensuring inventory quality control.
  • Ensuring stores operations are continuous.
  • Monitoring the security and cleanliness of all stores.
  • Managing the inventory team and planning procurement activities.
  • People management, ensuring that inventory personnel are well trained, provided opportunities for growth, able to perform their duties and that their issues are handled timeously.
  • Supervising and coordination of the appropriate processing of various purchase orders, purchase requisitions, receiving reports.
  • To establish and execute a cycle count schedule in compliance with the corporate accounting objectives.
  • To coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of the various inventory assets.
  • Supervision of the activities of inventory personnel to ensure efficient job performance, optimal productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ensuring the inventory areas are well managed and maintained with efficient material handling and storage.
  • Managing SAP tasks related to the inventory.
  • Validating the stock that has been received against the original order.
  • Ensuring the input data related to stock in the inventory system is accurate and maintains accurate inventory turnover performance.
  • Conduct physical stock takes of inventories and ensure that the investment in inventory is maintained at optimum levels.
  • Tracking the variances in the inventory to facilitate better planning as investigate, identify, and reconcile the discrepancies, i.e., shortages and overages.
  • Coordinating damaged and defective stock and ensuring that it is accounted for and handled properly by recycling or reconditioning it.
  • Preparing reports of inventory balance.
  • Maintaining high levels of internal customer service.

Qualifications

  • A diploma or university degree in Administration, or equivalent educational qualification
  • 3 years prior experience in the field of LPG.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct is mandatory.
  • Intermediate Computer literacy.
  • Experience in record keeping.
  • SAP Experience is a MUST.
