Chief Accountant - Payables

Purpose: Payables manager is obliged to ensure that the company’s financial obligations are adequately met. 

He/she holds a key function of compensating vendors for a smooth supply chain flow.

Being one of the major functions, he/she must portray strong leadership skills to his broad team.

Key Objectives
  • Maintain accurate, complete and reconciled vendor records by timely posting of invoices and monthly reconciliations.
  • Facilitate a seamless supplies flow by ensuring timely supplier payment that fairly matches to cost of sales.
  • Ensure stable cash flows by preparation of weekly, monthly & yearly cash outflow plans.
  • Achieve optimum staff productivity by implementing monthly performance measures.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage vendor accounts by ensuring a healthy vendor relations at all times
  • Ensure all liability is timely and accurately recognized in the books.
  • Ensure that supplier’s balances reconcile to the company books at all times.
  • Schedule and Facilitate vendor payments and remittance advises
  • Ensure all goods returned to vendors are timely and adequately recovered
  • Ensure all company financial commitments are planned for and conveniently met
  • Facilitate a smooth supply chain by ensuring timely payments for purchases.
  • Ensure the company enjoys sufficient supplier’s credit by negotiating the optimum terms with vendors.
  • Maintain a close match between bills payable and inventory position at all times.
  • Minimizing adverse cash flow exposures by maintaining minimal prepayments.
  • Maintaining a proper HQ petty-cash imprest system.
  • Participate in preparation of weekly, monthly and yearly cash flows plans
  • Monitoring and advising the management on critical liabilities by way of monthly Aging analysis.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned by Management
Person Specifications
 
Academic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management/Business Administration
Professional Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K) and a member of ICPAK
Experience:
  • 5-8 years in a similar capacity
Skills:
  • Strong computing skills (MS-Office)
  • Familiar with basic accounting packages
  • Knowledge of daily accounting and strong internal controls

Training Administrator
 
Department: Human Resources Development
 
Reports To: Human Resources Development Manager
 
Purpose: Provide an effective administrative and secretarial support to the training & development department and the training instructors.

Professional Qualifications, Job experience & Skills requirement
  • Maintaining accurate training records- both paper and I.T systems.
  • Support the training department in the full range of training activities – training room set-ups, provision of training materials etc.
  • Facilitate good and effective communication with other departments and institutions
  • Issue logs and record all appraisal documentations on annual basis-ensure that the training activity is extracted in order to plan training and development activities.
  • Prepare periodical reports and statistics of all training activities.
  • Prepare and ensure adherence to training budgets

Professional Qualifications, Job experience & Skills requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Diploma in office/business administration
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Job Title: PR & Marketing Officer
 
Job Purpose: Provide an effective administrative and secretarial support to the training & development department and the training instructors.

Tuskys seeks to hire a diligent, keen and aggressive PR & Marketing officer to support management in formulation of an effective communication & media plan, organizing of events and carrying out sales campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main liaison officer between the company and the media
  • Coming up with creative marketing proposals and ideas
  • Coordinate and supervise the production of marketing material from suppliers
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing activities
  • Follow up on logistics of events like dealer opening / sales Meetings, seminars, exhibitions and trade shows, test rides
  • Act as liaison between the company and the advertising agencies, print suppliers and the various marketing services
Professional Qualifications, Job experience & Skills Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • At least three years experience in PR or related field
  • Understanding of market will be retail and FMCG industry is an added advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in ICT
  • Posses high sense of integrity and confidentiality
  • Pleasant personality, self-driven and able to work under minimum supervision

Job Title: Category Managers

(8 Positions)
 
Report to: GM Operations.
 
The category manager is supposed to drive the sales targets of the Category. 

This will be achieved through Sales Team Leadership, Training, and Managing for results. 

The Category Manager will be expected to be an in-store expert in the merchandising, pricing, management
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Planning and driving category sales budgets for the category across the whole chain of 52 branches
  • Identifying new opportunities for Tuskys in the category
  • Responsible for managing inventory and for effectively planning and forecasting in order to maximize the profitability of the inventory flow.
  • Balancing projected forecasts and actual sales, create trend forecasts and implement sales plans, and supply chain of the category
  • Financial analysis is also a key part of the planning responsibilities in the clothing, footwear and furniture section.
  • Responsible for setting competitive pricing points, and adjusting the pricing to increase sales and clear out stagnant items from inventory.
  • Often work closely with buyers to expand successful product lines, and implement successful exit strategies for unsuccessful unpopular merchandise.
  • Responsible in creating marketing success formula - the right products at the right time for the right price.
Professional Qualifications, Job experience & Skills requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management.
  • Must have strong background with Sales, Marketing, merchandising and vendor relationships in the chosen category
  • Experience in FCMG and or clothing, footwear and furniture sales is an added advantage
