Project Team Leader - Tanzania
Summary: Our client is an African-based and African-led organization established in 2006 with a vision of a food secure and prosperous Africa achieved through rapid, sustainable agricultural growth based on smallholder farmers, majority of who are women.
Role: The Project Team Lead will have experience spanning operational,
strategic managerial and leadership of at least ten years in private and public
institutions preferably in Africa, specifically in the areas of structuring
Private Public Partnerships ,rural development, agribusiness covering the
agricultural value chain and relationship management with multi-sectoral

Further, the Team Leader would be
deeply familiar with how to structure effective PPPs that lead to “win win”
situations for all involved. Excellent interpersonal relationships will be a
key requirement.
The Team Leader will serve as the liaison with the Tanzania Country Office, the Project Advisory Committee.
This also includes the donor,
government, private sector and all the stakeholders identified to coordinate
the project activities.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and mobilizing all technical
resources required for the delivery of the “ Inclusive Green Growth of
Smallholder Agriculture Project (IGGSAS)
- Coordinating pipeline development and investment
linkages to deliver on the Program priorities as well as coordinating with
the relevant teams involved in the implementation of the IGSSAS which
include, the Tanzania Country Office, Project Advisory Committee, Crop
Consortias, Head Quarter, YARA, the donor and other stakeholders.
- Managing and maintaining the multi stakeholder
relationships including, the NFRA and other off takers, the private
sector, YARA, the Norwegian Embassy, Tanzania Country Office and others
who are involved in the project implementation.
- Coordinating Monitoring Learning and
Evaluation team responsible for the monitoring evaluation and learning
agenda, communications team, budget/financial reporting and research
activities under the Program.
- Serving as the principal point of contact for
the donor, Tanzania Country Office, Project Advisory Committee and Head,
Private Public Partnerships in planning, implementation and evaluation
services of the overall IGGSAS Program.
- Providing leadership in selection and
supervision of implementing partners.
- Ensuring the quality of grants presented under
IGGSAS is high and follow ups to ensure timely disbursement of funds.
- Serves as a point of contact on issues for key
stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Develop strategies and implementation plans
for the phase II (implementation) and phase III (scale up) of IGGSAS.
- Lead the work of identifying partners under
each crop consortia and building a cohesive team around each consortia.
Education and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Economics,
Finance, or Rural Development Studies or a related field and more than
13-15 years’ experience in international development
- Strong background and a minimum of 10 years
experience in agriculture related international development work
- Sound experience in project management
- Private sector experience

objectives are achieved in the most effective manner possible.

Exceptional communication skills and ability to represent the Organization
externally at high levels. Demonstrates ability to maintain lasting,
healthy, and effective one-to-one working relationships with colleagues,
suppliers, customers, professional peers, etc.
- Intercultural Sensitivity and Effectiveness:
Demonstrates ability to cross and bridge different racial, cultural, or
business cultures. This requires and is exhibited by personal experience .
