Job Location: Kenya – Mombasa, Arusha - Tanzania
 
Summary: Elective Africa ‘’EA’’ is seeking enthusiastic and committed Assistant Program Coordinator with a background in Tourism and Hospitality Management to join a dynamic and ambitious experiential travel team in Kenya and Tanzania.
 
Elective Africa is an organization in the education travel industry; a leading organizer of healthcare electives, gap breaks and volunteering expeditions, and is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. 
 

The Assistant Program Coordinator is an integral member of the operations team and has the general responsibility to ensure Elective Africa (‘’EA’’) delivers on its promise as outlined in the EA program materials. 


 
He works as part of a team and is expected to assume a leadership role in executing this role.

Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and plan for upcoming student placements and make the necessary arrangements and coordinating program activities as efficiently as possible.
  • Efficiently manage student itineraries and arrange for timely airport transfers, student orientations.
  • Liaise with the operations Coordinator to ensure all logistical requirements for clients are met, including but not limited to transport, accommodation, food, utilities etc
  • Identify potential suppliers for various services in the specific location.
  • Organize community involvement activities that will promote EA CSR efforts.
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree qualification from a recognized University is a must, preferably under Tourism and Hospitality Management Department minimum second class honors upper division.
  • KCSE Certificate, Minimum of B Plain.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills and communication skills (Writing and Verbal) and
  • Ability to comfortably relate with cross cultural teams.
  • A self starter and be willing to travel for extended periods.
  • Ability to work under minimum or no supervision.
  • Excellent computing skills (Ms Office suite and Outlook).
  • A creative and innovative person.
  • Willingness to do long and odd hours.
  • Relevant experience in community development program management or tourism will be an added advantage.
