Responsibilities:


  • Technical support relative to steam boilers;
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during the tendering phase;
  • Develop the design phase of the project.
  • Steam pipework
  • Gathering technical information with sales representatives to clarify projects;
  • Assist African sales teams with project delivery;
  • Ensuring that client requirements are fully realized;
  • Maintain regular customer contact to establish requirements and ensure a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times;
  • Coordinate with boiler organization with regard appropriate selection of equipment, ancillaries, logistics and service support;
  • Coordinate with African notified bodies, ensuring that all equipment is supplied in accordance with African legislation;
  • Manage ongoing projects via site visits, ensuring that client requests are met in a timely manner (on a rare basis);
  • Consult external service providers (carriers, crane operators, inspection bodies, pipe fitters, etc.);
  • Follow the project delivery on sites & remotely;
  • Support service engineers with requests of amendments/extra resource & equipment.

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or similar;
  • Experience within the steam boiler industry;
  • Technical knowledge of steam boilers and their relevant legislative requirements;
  • Ability to read P & ID as well as Electrical schematic;
  • Experience with pipework, housework & associated ancillaries;
  • Ability to manage projects;
  • Knowledge of Windows Office, Excel and appropriate Microsoft applications and AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
