Job Overview
The VSM Will ensure that required outlet coverage is
achieved, products are distributed into focused outlets and out of stock are
reduced to the barest minimum and also achieve the volume target for the
assigned route.
Detailed Description
Key Activities – Operation
- Driving van and selling products to customers
- Identifying new selling opportunities in trade
- Delivering purchase orders and informing existing customers of
new products
- Daily cash and stock reconciliation with finance and stores
team
- Ensure all brands/SKUs are loaded on the truck before trucking
out
- Maintain product freshness through proper handling and strict
practice of FIFO
- Advising customers on stocking levels as well as SKU mix
- Communication of business information to clients e.g., price
change, changes in brands,
- innovation brands.
- Providing market feedback to the management through the
Occurrence Book
- Ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness of tools assigned
i.e., phones, ETR machine
- and truck.
- Maintain an accurate customer database to expand the market
coverage.
- Ensuring good customer rapport while gathering market
intelligence
- Achieving monthly sales target (Beer and Spirits at least 90%
and RTD at least 85%)
- Deliver journey plan completion of 100% daily.
- Deliver a strike rate of 75% spirits and 90% beer
Skill sets and Qualifications
Key capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid Commercial driving license and experience of not less
than 4 years
- Ability to Meeting Sales targets
- Strong negotiation skills
- Minimum 30 years of age
Experience
- At least 3 years of work experience in sales in the FMCG
industry (working with an alcoholic beverage firm will be an added
advantage)
Education
- KCSE certificate or Diploma in sales and Marketing
- Must be computer literate and must have used a digitalized
sales system
