Farm Assistant – GRADE III/IV Ref: (UoEm/FA/10/2023)
Applicants must be holders of at least KCSE D+
(Plus) aggregate or KCE Division IV and a certificate in Animal Health and
Production from the Animal Health Industry Training Institute (AHITI). In
addition, they must:
Be
registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) and must have a valid
practicing license;
Have
at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience as a
Farm Assistant; and
Have
a working knowledge of relevant computer applications.
Applicants
with a certificate in artificial insemination will have an added advantage.
Duties;
Assisting
in supervising farm workers and coordinating farming activities
Assisting
in compiling and updating animal health and production records
Carrying
out routine livestock best practices i.e. castration, dehorning, deworming,
disbudding, and hoof trimming
Livestock
disease and pest control.
Other
duties as may be assigned from time to time.
