ICT Manager

Job Purpose
This position ensures that
the Board leverages IT to deliver its mandate. The position reports to the
position reports to the General Manager of Corporate Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensuring that all ICT
needs of the organization are met and to provide leadership to the ICT
Department;
Formulating and
implementing ICT policies, procedures, and plans;
Managing third-party service providers of ICT services such as the Internet to ensure that the College gets value for money;
Identifying ICT needs of
College staff, students, and clients;
Developing, implementing,
and managing computerized information system;
Providing ICT services to
transform KUC into an automated work environment that supports efficient and
effective service delivery;
Providing appropriate
information and guidance on emerging trends and best practices in ICT to enable
KUC to optimize usage of technology;
Providing support for
users of KUC’s ICT Services;
Conducting and
co-ordinating user training on various systems
Maintaining KUC’s
information systems.
Implementing,
administrating, and maintaining KUC’s network infrastructure
Implementing capabilities
to ensure Information System security.
Undertaking such other
duties as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of
responsibility of this grade.
Person Specifications
Master’s degree in
Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related
field from a recognized institution
Bachelor’s Degree in,
Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, or
related from a recognized institution
Thirteen (13) years of
working experience five (5) of which must be in a supervisory position
Certification in CISA,
ITIL, and Project Management Certification e.g. PRINCE2
Supervisory Skills course
lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
Senior Management Course
lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Leadership Course lasting
not less than four (4) weeks
Demonstrated results in
work performance.
Membership to a relevant
professional body (where applicable).
Meets provision of Chapter
Six of the Constitution
