Value Added Tax (VAT) Specialist
Roles and
responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of
new methodologies or approaches to address emerging VAT issues for
our clients.
- Assist clients by identifying
issues they may not recognize and recommend solutions tailored to their
strategic and commercial objectives whilst considering the regulatory
environment.
- Be actively involved in business
development activities to help identify and research opportunities on
new/existing clients.
- Manage existing client portfolios
and maintain sound client relationships.
- Leverages on internal and external
networks to enhance firm’s connectivity, performance and profitability
opportunities.
- Provide written technical
opinions or reports for clients.
- Conduct VAT training for clients
as and when required.
- Keep up to date with changes in
VAT legislation in the East Africa region.
- Keep up to date with local and
international business and economic issues.
Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree from a
recognized university
- Applicants with tax
qualification will have an added advantage
- 4-5 years of relevant
experience in the field of VAT preferably in a tax authority or tax
advisory firm
- In-depth knowledge of the
VAT legislative framework in Kenya
- In-depth knowledge of the local
VAT regulations, policies and practices in Kenya.
- Excellent analytical skills and
commercial expertise are required for you to succeed in this role
- You must also demonstrate the
ability to communicate with impact, have excellent business development
and negotiation skills
- You must have good leadership
skills, be an effective team player, excellent management skills and good
project management skills.
