Job Vacancy: Project Coordinator

Our client is a Sustainable Event Management (SEM) company within the East African region.

They help organizations develop and implement SEM Plans in their conferences and business events.

They are looking for a Project Coordinator responsible for administering and organizing various event projects.

They will work closely with the Project Director to develop project action plans and manage resources, timeframes, and budgets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop event proposals & budgets for approval by stakeholders.
  • Lead client discussions to align event expenditure with the budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure adherence to plans and budget
  • Develop event floor plans based on client requirements with stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans and risk management recommendations.
  • Liaise with clients on invoicing and payment matters for timely settlement
  • Manage financial budgets aligned with departmental work plans.
  • Present event proposals to management and clients for approval.
  • Propose the department's financial budgets for management approval.
  • Recommend venue selection based on client requirements with stakeholders.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure adherence to project plans

Required Specifications


  • 3 years of work experience as a Project Manager or experience in a similar role
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools
  • Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Public Relations or a related field
  • Certification in Convention Management is a plus
