Assistant Accountant Job in Kenya

A company based in Machakos that deals with processing and packaging of fruits and vegetables requires an Assistant Accountant with the following qualifications:-


·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance & CPA Part 2 holder OR CPA K holder
·         At least 2 years in a busy accounts department

·         Excellent customer service and communication skills
·         Keen on details
·         A person of high integrity
·         Ability to work in a team
Reporting to the Account Manager, the position holder will be responsible for:-
·         Supporting in the preparation of the LPOs
·         Working closely with the Account Manager , developing and maintaining cost standards and methods for tracking various activities in the business
·         Assisting in the management and coordination of working capital to ensure adequacy and optimization of working capital components
·         Ensuring timely posting of revenues and expenses
·         Coordinating weekly and monthly stock taking exercise
·         Managing the petty cash expenses / reimbursement
·         Coordinating end year financial and operating procedures and requirements

·         Managing stocks of the inventory and receipts from suppliers
·         Assist in managing budgets and financial analysis for financial reporting
·         Preparation of VAT and other Taxes. Ensure prompt settlement of telephone, water, electricity and monthly periodic supplier’s requirements and payments.
·         Managing analysis of revenues / expenditure
·         Accuracy in reporting on outstanding tasks
·         Ensure that all financial transactions are operated within the stipulated timelines.
·         Assist in ensuring Compliance with System Controls (Financial Accountant’s Processes)
·         Preparing the monthly ledgers
·         Preparing the Suppliers statements
·         Developing and providing ad hoc financial information to end users for business decision making
·         Participate in preparation of management accounts
·         Assisting in the Management and coordination of working capital to ensure adequacy and optimization of working capital components
