Job Vacancy: Awards and Business Development Manager

Role Purpose: This role will work collaboratively with members, partners and other departments of the Country office programme to ensure smooth management of development and humanitarian programme awards, sub awards and contracts.
The post holder will work with others to ensure that SCI Sudan adheres to all its awards management and business development obligations internally within Save the Children and externally with donors.
Contract Duration: 2 Years
Location: Sudan – Khartoum
Qualifications and Experience
·         At least 7-year experience in related field
·         Masters / University degree in International Development, Business Administration or Finance
·         Solid experience in more than one of the Save the Children priority sectors: Education, WASH, FS/L, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, in development and emergencies
·         Practical experience and successful track record in writing and leading proposals for a variety of donors, particularly USAID, DFID, private sector foundations, UNICEF, and EU/ECHO.
·         Experience of staff management, supervision and capacity building in Award Management
·         Experience of communicating with impact in a complex stakeholder environment
·         Proven track record of in-country award portfolio management and experience of grant/contract management & sub agreements with knowledge of major funders’ guidelines (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, UNICEF, WFP etc.)
·         Familiarity with project design methods and tools (including assessments, logical frameworks, and work planning) and strong appreciation for innovation and partnership as part of project development.
·         Good analytical skills, effective negotiator, with proven ability to positively influence cross departmental and cross sector working.
·         Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills including writing, influencing, negotiation and coaching, with experience in managing multicultural teams
·         Strong financial skills and experience in budget development
·         Good attention to detail and analytical skills
·         Proven experience in developing local partnerships for projects.
·         Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure
·         Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities and work under pressure
·         Computer literate (i.e. Word, advanced Excel, Outlook, financial systems).
·         Willingness to travel to regional/field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements
·         Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
·         Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
·         Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy
Desirable
·         Experience with Save the Children Award Management System (AMS)
·         Significant experience with NGOs in an international environment

Job Vacancy: Health Cluster Coordinator
Role Purpose: The overall purpose of the health cluster is to provide health leadership in emergency and crisis preparedness, response and recovery; prevent and reduce emergency-related morbidity and mortality; ensure evidence-based actions, gap filling and sound coordination; and enhance accountability, predictability and effectiveness of humanitarian health actions.
The Health Cluster Co-Coordinator will contribute to the fulfillment of the Health Cluster’s purposes, which entails providing substantial assistance in the implementation of inclusive, field-level humanitarian coordination mechanisms, including liaison with relevant UN operational agencies, NGOs, and local authorities.
Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: Juba
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
·         Degree in Medicine and /or Public Health.
·         Health professional with extensive experiences of humanitarian response and coordination mechanism for 5-6 years, of which at least 3 in managing and coordinating health programme in chronic, acute and sudden-onset emergencies.

·         Prior experience on coordination, representation, negotiation,
·         Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors,
·         Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports and a high level of written and spoken English
·         Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
·         The capacity and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
·         Commitment to the aims and principles of humanitarian coordination.
·         Familiar with the South Sudan health system and context, as well as working and living experiences in South Sudan
Desirable:
·         Language skills in English

Role Purpose: As a key member of the East and Southern Africa (ESA) regional programme quality support team, the Regional MEAL and Research Coordinator is responsible for supporting Country Offices to embed MEAL and advance learning through quality research and evaluation.
He/she provides support to country offices to strengthen different components of MEAL especially learning through research and evaluation, facilitating the dissemination of outcomes within and beyond the ESA region.
Contract Duration: 1 Year

Qualifications and Experience
·         Master’s degree in international development or in one or more of Save the Children’s thematic areas (e.g. education, public health, nutrition, child protection, child rights and livelihoods& food security)
·         At least 6 years’ experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning and Research
·         Knowledge and demonstrated experience in designing and implementing research and evaluations
·         Ability to synthesize large reports and write concise briefs using infographics as well as produce and deliver high quality presentations
·         Understanding of the principles for creating and maintaining communities of practice
·         Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively in networks and communities of practice
·         Excellent verbal and written communication in English
·         A flexible and resourceful attitude with the ability to manage and prioritise an unpredictable workload.
·         Proven analytical and problem solving skills in order to understand the range and content of the emergency programmes’ work and provide practical solutions to operational challenges.
·         Proven data analysis and report writing skills
·         Good understanding of child participation, child protection and child rights governance issues
·         Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity;
·         Strong self-starter who is able to take initiative
·         Commitment to Save the Children aims, values and policies, including child safeguarding and data protection
·         Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
·         Willingness and ability to travel around the region
