About the role:
 
We are looking for an accountant who will work with the Financial Administration Manager in maintaining our accounting operations. 

You will be responsible in ensuring that records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time. 
 
Overall financial activities:
  • Assisting the Finance and Administration Manager with accounting and administrative duties as may be required
  • Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
  • Performing general accounting tasks such as book keeping, filing statutory payments and preparing compliance reports
  • Assisting as assigned, in preparing audit schedules, financial statements, or other reports.
  • Assist in computing taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
  • Reconciling records with internal company employees and management of external vendors.
  • Assisting in investigating questionable accounting data
  • Advising staff on procedures, policies, and systems relating to projects costs and reimbursements
  • Assist in collecting financial data and writing reports for funders and clients
  • Assist the Finance and Administration Manager in creating budgets feeding into funding proposals
  • Support the team in creating new revenue generating activities
Contribute to general running of the company:
  • Participate in driving company culture internally
  • Support our programmes, events and activities whenever required
Who we are looking for:
  • You are a CPA K holder  (up to level 6)
  • You have a minimum of one year full-time work experience in accounting
  • You know QuickBooks in and out
  • You are familiar with KRA iTax system, especially PAYE and VAT filing
  • You organize your own working time well and have proven ability to work with minimum supervision
  • You are analytical and have keen attention to detail
  • Your colleagues speak of you as a good team player
  • Experience in working across cultures is an added advantage
