The Aga Khan Health Services, Kenya runs two secondary care level hospitals in Mombasa and Kisumu. The Hospitals are acknowledged for quality healthcare services. 

They have achieved ISO accreditation and also moving towards internationally recognized clinical standards of quality and excellence.
 

The Hospital wishes to recruit for the following positions:
 
Head of Human Resource
 

Job Summary: The Head of Human Resource will lead the human resource function of the hospital. 

In this capacity, he/she will provide leadership and strategic direction on Human Resource issues, and help develop and/or review Human Resource policies for the hospital in-liaison with sister Agencies and Head of HR – Geneva, Switzerland. 

S/he will develop and implement human resource strategies, in-liaison with the Chief Executive Officer. 

In addition, s/he will contribute to the overall business strategy by advising the senior leadership team on the human resource implications of strategic decisions. 

Training and development of the existing human resource, recruitment, and retention strategies form a key component of this function.
 
The Head of HR will through a team of other HR professionals will be required to deliver top quality workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, development and talent management, industrial relations and effective legally compliant HR administration, payroll and HRIS. 

This will include planning, organizing, and monitoring all aspects of the HR function through regular reporting and KPI management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management
  • Masters degree in Human Resource Management or social sciences will be an added advantage
  • 8-10 years of working experience managing an HR function,
  • Healthcare organization working experience is a desirable requirement
  • Current and valid membership of the Institute of Human Resource Management,(K)
  • Excellent problem solving skills, effective interpersonal communication, cultural sensitivities, excellent written and verbal communication in English, strong analytical skills, excellent coach and mentor
  • Good technical skills in Microsoft Office and HRIS
Consultant Paediatrician
 
The Consultant will be responsible for the provision of quality comprehensive care to children, both as outpatients and inpatients.

S/he will also be expected to participate in the enhancement of maternal and child health services in the hospital.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inpatient and Outpatient management of pediatric patients
  • Conduct specialized Paediatric Outpatient clinics
  • Planning and implementation of pediatric care at the hospital
  • Participation in quality assurance and improvement of pediatric services
  • Coordination of continuous medical education at the facility
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with current applicable local, state laws and regulations and the accrediting standards of any certification or accrediting body that accredits or certifies any facility at which the hospital provides services
Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants should have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent degree from a recognized University with a Postgraduate qualification (Master of Medicine) in Paediatrics.
  • Special recognition from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board in Paediatrics is an added advantage.
  • Post qualification experience in the specialty in a reputable institution of more than two years will also be an added advantage.
  • Certification in PALS or EPLS will be an added advantage.
  • The ideal candidate should have effective communication and team building skills
