Exciting Career Opportunities:Quality Supervisor
Additionally, the jobholder will have
responsibility of building quality culture and providing expert and effective
quality advice to manufacturing team through continuous coaching, analysing
quality performance and feed back for corrective actions.
Key Deliverables
- Support New Product Introductions (NPI's) by
coordinating production in the factory and providing results and reports
within expected timelines.
- Carry out process audits to ensure compliance
with applicable Standard Operating Procedures and ensure non conforming
product do not go to the market and evaluate and communicate deviations
from specification.
- Perform gap analysis and process capability measurements
for modules and put in place action plans to improve machine capabilities.
- Carry out protocol runs after machine
overhauls, installation and maintenance.
- Recommend decisions about products, tobacco
and wrapping materials that deviate from the prescribed quality standards,
and take initiate corrective action to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare, interpret and present detailed
quality performance reports for the manufacturing team as required.
- Perform Process Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
for key processes in SMD and put in place quality plans to mitigate
identified risks.
- Coordinate root cause analysis and trouble
shooting using problem solving tools for non conformances and customer
complaints.
- Provide training for Quality and manufacturing
staff as well as other employees who interact with the product.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Degree in analytical chemistry,
Chemical or Process Engineering.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a
manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge in Quality Management
systems and knowledge in statistical process control (SPC). ISO 9001:2008
Lead auditor qualification will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in Team leadership and
influencing skills
- Good analytical skills, paying attention to
detail and having a logical and methodical approach to process and product
Quality Assurance.
- Have good time management skills with a focus
on results.
Production Coordinator
Job Purpose: Reporting to the
Production Services Supervisor, the incumbent will be required to maintain and
manage accurate and up to date Factory Information Systems to facilitate
informed decision making by managers which shall translate to process improvement.
Key Deliverables
- Analyze and monitor process data and assist
the manufacturing team to continuously improve their processes in the
fields of operations target per shift, waste and housekeeping.
- Compile performance reports on various process
data and ensure accuracy and completeness of the reports before
circulation to management.
- Generate and maintain periodic backups for all
information systems working within the factory.
- Liaise with third parties supervisors on shift
to ensure delivery of factory services such housekeeping, palletizing and
waste recovery.
- Accurately interpret production plan and
timely escalation of production issues.
- Coordinate with other Supply Chain parties
involved in stocks management to ensure that stocks are well managed while
ensuring that teams in the factory get accurate and timely feedback from
analysis of process data.
- Provide administrative support i.e mark
attendance and crewing, prepare meals allowance and overtime request.
- Accurately capture process data, interpret
production plan, down time logs and ensure timely supply of production
materials to the factory.
- Obtain benchmarking information and encourage
idea generation by the teams and participate in phasing out and
implementation of viable innovations.
- Provide leadership during the brand change
process and ensure accurate completion of plan.
- Manage the maintenance of the both electronic
and paper data for the factory.
Essential Requirements
- Graduate engineer, preferably
Mechanical/Electrical/ Industrial Engineering.
- At least two years of manufacturing
experience.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing
processing, quality measurements and specification procedures.
- Critical analysis, problem solving and
reporting skills.
- Exposure to Lean methods and Analysis tools
- Good communication and leadership skills
Process & Quality Executive
Job Purpose:Reporting to the Process Analyst the job holder
will be responsible for driving process quality assurance and initiate
corrective actions to ensure the manufacture of high quality tobacco.
This will involve driving product
integrity and traceability standards and a structured approach to Continual
improvement through Quality performance measurement and reporting.
Key Deliverables
- Develop and complete Process Failure Mode
Effects Analysis (P-FMEA) for all key processes and put in place
improvement plans to drive a structured approach to continual improvement
- Carry out regular process audits to confirm
compliance to applicable standard operating procedures and take actions to
correct any deviations.
- Perform Process & machine capability
analysis on all key processes and machines and use it to drive
improvements.
- Sample and measure key parameters identified,
analyse and generate reports and share with all stakeholders and follow up
on corrections where necessary.
- Carry out protocol runs after machine overhauls,
installation and maintenance.
- Support in past management and trigger control
actions to ensure that its properly controlled.
- Perform planned calibrations and cross-checks
on quality assurance equipment in accordance with the requirements of BAT
protocols.
- Actively participate in Gap analysis and
troubleshooting by using problem solving and improvement tools.
- Training staff on work procedures and
continual improvement tools.
- Propose innovations and ideas that would
improve performance and productivity to team leadership and management.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum degree in Chemistry, Chemical or
Process engineering
- Two years’ experience in a manufacturing
environment.
- The job holder need to have advanced knowledge
in statistical process control (SPC) Six Sigma qualifications will be an
added advantage.
- The job holder needs to have good analytical
skills, paying attention to detail and have a logical and methodical
approach to process analysis.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and
technical report writing
Marketing Services Manager
Job Purpose: The incumbent will Lead the Marketing Services
department for East Africa Markets which includes the Indian Ocean Islands,
Horn of Africa and East Africa cluster (Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania).
Key Deliverables
- To drive growth by leading the implementation
of marketing plans to deliver overall Sales and Financial objectives
- Support the annual Market planning process
- Drive On-time delivery of Key Consumer and
Trade Initiatives through effective project management and effective
coordination of cross functional teams
- Recommend appropriate retail/ customer
dialogue strategy meet business objectives using consumer and trade
research data
- Support the brand Team in the development of
effective consumer and Trade Programs and touch point infrastructure, by
providing pertinent market insights
- Oversee the execution of trade and consumer
programmes in-Market in line with trade marketing & distribution
strategy
- Implement brand programmes in retail
touch-points and validate the touch-point infrastructure (e.g.,
merchandising materials for brand and trade programmes, in-store hardware,
non-branded materials)
- Resource allocation and effective management
of Brand support budget
- For respective trade channels, assist in
defining objectives, recommend approach (e.g., delivery frequency, call
frequency etc).
- Propose goals and key performance indicators
for trade programme development and track ongoing results
- Provide distribution directives to
distributors, supporting them in their day-to-day distribution
activities
- Monitor key distribution performance
indicators and initiate actions to cover short-term “gaps” in performance
and capability thereby maintaining distribution effectiveness.
- Lead the tracking and evaluation of Key
marketing initiatives to ensure that they meet business objectives and
trade cluster requirements
- Effectively utilise Market research
information to drive width & depth of distribution of strategic brands
to grow volume & value share.
- Provide support for the demand review process,
clarifying trade programmes objectives, activities and schedule
- Oversee the management and coordination of
marketing services processes and efficiency improvement initiatives to
support the delivery of key organisational objectives.
- Represent the Marketing services function at
monthly Leadership Meetings
- Drive the optimisation of an effective and
efficient distribution system to meet business objectives
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the
Marketing function in a FMCG category.
- Comprehensive understanding of trade
marketing, customer engagement, account management and trade programme
development.
- Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
- Exceptional inter-personal skills and ability
to facilitate and work through diverse teams
- Be self driven and able to work with minimal
supervision, on multiple tasks
- Analytical skills and ability to translate
market information into meaningful insights that can be leveraged improve
business performance
