The Salaries and Remuneration
Commission (SRC) is an independent Commission established under Article 230 of
the Constitution of Kenya 2010, with the mandate to set and regularly review
the Remuneration and Benefits of all State Officers and to advise the National
and County Governments on the Remuneration and Benefits of all other Public
Officers.
The Commission seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill the following vacant position:
Principal Analyst, Policy & Planning
SRC 6
(One Position)
Job Summary: The job holder will be involved in carrying out
different economic analysis on public finance policy and management.
The position will also be crucial in
policy formulation and implementation strategy arising from existing research
findings.
The position requires liaison with
public sector research institutions to document policy developments in the
field of remuneration analysis and pay determination.

- Support periodic fiscal sustainability
analysis of the impact of various remuneration and benefits packages to
ensure affordability of total compensation bill by collecting remuneration
data from public sector institutions.
- Carryout macro and micro economic studies on
remuneration and benefits.
- Interrogate various Government policies
impacting on remuneration, benefits and pension with a view to providing required
advice.
- Support development of relevant policy
positions for different sectors of the public service.
- Participate in comparative studies of
remuneration approaches used in the public sector through quantitative
modeling and make appropriate recommendations during various salary
cycles.
- Support remuneration analysis by applying
policy guidelines that determine aggregate remuneration spending for
different sub-sectors of the public service
- Conduct assessment on what comparable jobs pay
across public sector in the country
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics, Policy Analysis
or any other relevant analytical area of study.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics,
Mathematics or related field.
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge of economic
analysis, public finance management principles and processes.
- Demonstrated basic understanding of public
sector policy analysis.
- Practical knowledge and experience in the
field of economic policy analysis.

Principal Communication Officer (Electronic
Media)
SRC 6
(1 Position)
Job Summary: The incumbent will assist the Deputy Director of Corporate Communication and interface with internal and external stakeholders for the successful implementation of public education and communication programmes related to the activities of the Commission.
Duties and
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of
the Commission’s communication strategy, media policy, production policies
and standards and multimedia applications and adhering to communications
and branding standards.
- Assist in organizing press conferences, media
coverage and attending to media enquiries.
- Draft news release.
- Plan communications messages, formats, and
designs which meet SRC’s needs and have impact with the intended
audience(s).
- Assist in producing and managing content for
documentary, educational videos and infomercials that can be used across
digital platforms, including website, social media and electronic media.
- Operate video and photo (stills) cameras and
audio recorders.
- Edit, archive and retrieve multimedia
resources.
- Avail multi-media resources to users such as
media and webmaster.
- Maintain and upgrade multi-media equipment and
software.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelors’ degree in Journalism,
Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or the equivalent from a
recognized university.
- A post-graduate qualification in Public
Relations, Multimedia Design or Journalism is an added advantage.
- Adequate knowledge of Kenya’s media scene.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in media
production.
- Excellent creative skills.
- Membership to a relevant professional body.
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of electronic media issues, social
marketing theory and practice, communications strategies and
implementation and behavioural sciences.
- Experience in TV/Radio production.
- Knowledge of marketing, public relations,
advertising, promotion and other marketing communication methods.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially
PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Proficiency with graphics, especially Adobe
Photoshop.
Assistant Director Finance
SRC 5
(1 Position)
Job Summary: The job holder will report to the Director,
Corporate Services and will assist in the administration of the financial
systems, planning of financial services, monitoring expenditures and enforcing
financial compliance.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Providing of advisory services to the
Commission with regard to financial matters.
- Develop and implement financial management
policies, standards, systems and procedures at the Commission.
- Coordinating accounting activities for
improvement and enforcement of internal controls in the Commission.
- Ensure prudent financial management of the
Commission.
- Prepare annual budget of the Commission and
communicate the same to various users within the Commission.
- Prepare periodic reports on financial matters.
- Verify the accuracy of finance performance
analysis.
Minimum Requirements
- At least Seven (7) years proven work
experience in areas of Finance and Administration.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following:
Commerce (Finance or Accounting Option), Economics, Business
Administration (Accounting Option), Business Management, or any other
equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Holder of CPA (K).
- Experience in Public Sector Accounting will be
an added advantage.
- Relevant accounting packages from a recognized
institution.
- Demonstrated professional competence and
achievement of performance targets and results as reflected in the performance
appraisal.
- Membership to a relevant professional body.
Key Competences
- Possess high integrity.
- Demonstrate high ethical standards.
- Be proficient in use of relevant ICT packages.
- Must be self-driven and result oriented.
