The Supply Chain Planner position is a key role within our strategic plan for the Group Shared Services Office. 

An enthusiastic self starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. 

Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance immediate & long term priorities as well as exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity. 

Key objectives will be achieving / improving / exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the Group’s Supply Chain.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Plan and execute procurement of Raw and Pack Materials from Global Suppliers
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with suppliers to confirm production / shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Proactively report product and material availability issues
  • Maintain & monitor Master Data;
  • In consultation with Product Development Team, ensure revision of essential system planning data to ensure ERP (or legacy) system is effectively used for planning future requirements
  • Manage Inventory through Stock Cover Reporting, Inventory reduction measurements, & Inventory Revaluation,
  • Manage Product Life Cycles with clear action points for products at each life cycle stage;
  • Maintain Purchase Order Status and shipment tracking information in ERP / legacy system
  • Proactively provide supply status and shipment tracking to Regional Supply Chain Points in East Africa,
  • Lead, Participate and Contribute to monthly Demand & Supply Planning process
  • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials, components, and finished goods in conjunction with the Business Unit Teams
  • Complete special projects and assignments as requested
  • Measure and report related Supply Chain KPI’s
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field
  • 2-3 years Supply Chain experience. Planning experience strongly desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • ERP system experience highly desired
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to Changing priorities
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Supply Chain certification or certification in progress preferable (APICS CPIM/CSCP)
