Chief Security Officer Job in JKIA, Nairobi, Kenya


A Supply chain Logistic and Ground Handling Company situated at the JKIA Nairobi is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of the Chief Security Officer.

Main responsibilities include;

  • overseeing and coordinating security efforts across the company, including information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management and other groups, and will identify security initiatives and standards
  • Overseeing a network of security details and vendors who safeguard the company’s assets, intellectual property and computer systems, as well as the physical safety of employees and visitors.
  • Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.
  • Manage the development and implementation of security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security. Physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection, work place violence prevention, access control systems, CCTV surveillance, and more. Information protection responsibilities will include network security architecture, network access and monitoring access and monitoring policies, employee education and awareness, and more.
  • Maintain proper security reports which include recording statements and incidents report of all security occurrences
  • Represent the company in court and give evidence on all security issues presented in court
  • must keep abreast with security legislation requirements that impact security for the enterprise
  • Work with other managers to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology.
  • Enhance auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
  • Maintain relationships with local, state law enforcement and government related agencies.
  • Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
Skills, Knowledge and experience requirements:
  • the suitable candidate should possess the following qualification:
  • A degree in criminology or sociology with training in security
  • at least 5 years experience at a Senior position in corporate security especially in a warehouse or factory set up
  • ability to write reports and represent the company on security legal issues
  • A mature person preferably over 30 years who has high integrity and ability to work independently
