Procurement Officer Job in Kenya

Key responsibilities:

Receive Supply Requisitions, solicit quotations from vendors and negotiate best prices

Prepare quotation matrix for selection and approval

Raise Local Purchase Orders for approval

Participate in the tender process

Ensure purchases are properly approved in line with MEDS-published authority levels

Update Supplier performance concerns for decision making

Receive and record invoices for non-trade commodities to facilitate prompt payment

Ensure prompt filing of procurement documents for easy retrieval

Advise and support MEDS staff on procurement of stock, non-stock items and other MEDS needs and ensure best procurement practices are observed at all times.

Job requirements:


Bachelor Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain and Diploma in Pharmacy

At least 5 years of experience 3 of which in a busy procurement department in a Pharmaceutical Supply Chain

Knowledge of procurement using ERP systems desired

Functional skills; Negotiation skills, Customer care skills, analytical skills, people skills and communication skills
