The Duties And Responsibilities Shall Include But Are Not Limited To:

Maintaining Human Resource records, both electronic and manual, in accordance with legal requirements and the institution’s policies and procedures for reference and decision-making;

Updating and filing of staff records for Human Resource to ensure safe keeping and future reference;

Providing Human Resource and Administrative support such as placement of advertisements, receiving and filling applications, inviting candidates for interviews, organizing interview venues, and conducting background checks to facilitate the recruitment process;

Drafting of correspondences to staff/clients to enhance customer service relations;


Responding to staff/customer inquiries within provided timelines to ensure healthier customer service while adhering to the Interdepartmental Service Level Agreements;

Preparing appointment letters to facilitate seamless on-boarding and promotion;

Preparing induction programs for new staff to facilitate the induction process;

Facilitating staff Medical Scheme through registration and deregistration of employees and dependents to ensure a healthy workforce;

Processing and following up on claims for medical cover and insurance to enhance staff satisfaction and productivity;

Generating and preparing Human Resource reports for decision-making;

Compiling Pay Change Advice to facilitate payroll processing.

For Appointment To This Grade, One MUST Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management;

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Social Science or equivalent with a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from an institution recognized in Kenya;

At least six (6) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years as a Human Resource Officer II or Senior Administrative Assistant, HR in a University or its equivalent;

Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing;

Proficiency in computer applications;

Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.
