Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Library and
Information Science (preferably ICT option for the Senior Information
Systems Librarian) from a recognized /accredited university or relevant
field
- 3years’ experience as Librarian or its
equivalent
- Minimum of one article in a peer reviewed
journal
- Must be Computer literate.
- Must be a member of a relevant
professional body where applicable.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Library and
Information Science from a recognized /accredited university or relevant
field
- 5 years’ experience as Librarian or its
equivalent
- Must be a member of a relevant
professional body where applicable.
- Minimum of one article in a peer reviewed
journal
- Must be Computer Literate
Responsibilities
Reporting to: Deputy
Director Academic and Research Affairs
- Supervise staff under the section.
- Maintain and coordinate book selection
with teaching departments.
- Provide feedback on selection made by
teaching departments.
- Catalogue and classify library materials.
- Register and compile user profiles.
- Facilitate inter-library loan services,
information and reference services.
- Compile user statistics.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by
the immediate supervisors.
- Conduct User training
