Job Overview:
The Retail Operations Admin will be responsible for
managing and overseeing the commercial aspects of our business operations. Your
role is pivotal in achieving our company and growth objectives. You will be
responsible for revenue (sales targets), stocks, price margins, profitability
and resource management. Your ability to build and nurture strong and efficient
business with seamless operations and support in driving sales growth is
essential to our success. You will play a significant part in developing and
executing strategies to meet or exceed company objectives and KPIs.
Responsibilities:
Identify and follow up potential opportunities to
improve the business, markets, and potential partners through market research
and analysis.
Develop and oversee plans and strategies to achieve
company revenue growth objectives by meeting sales targets.
Prepare daily revenue reports and forecasts, and
provide insights and recommendations for improvement for management review and
action so as to ensure the sales targets are met.
Explore new markets for B2B eg E-commerce companies. Prepare and present business proposals, pitches, and presentations to the managing director and external stakeholders.
Co-ordinate and collaborate with cross-functional
teams wholesale, franchise, sourcing and finance, to support business growth,
achievement of targets and completion of tasks or projects assigned within
timelines.
Analyze stock levels, product margins, monitor
inventory turnover, expiries, returns and crate management and ensure accurate
stock replenishment in alignment with sales trends and forecasted demand.
Warehouse and logistics management. Conduct daily
checks to observe operations, offer guidance, and ensure adherence to company
standards and policies.
Determine resource availability, tracking and
reporting by implementing resource allocation, levelling , forecasting and
planning.
Use available resources to maximize efficiency,
reduce costs, avoid waste and maximize profitability. Monitor and control
operating costs, fuel, truck hire, casual expenses, and shrinkage to maintain
profitability targets.
Support in selection of new stores in co-ordination
with the Geographic Expansion Department scorecard.
Negotiate and finalize agreements, contracts, and
partnerships to secure new business opportunities.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory
requirements in all business transactions. Assess and manage risks associated
with the business.
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor
activities, and market shifts to develop innovative strategies and maintain a
competitive edge.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration,
Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Proven track record of at least 10 years in
operations or sales in Retail industry and also in expansion based
organizations. Knowledge of consumer preferences is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of the retail market and trends,
in-depth knowledge of commercial retail operations, sales techniques, and
retail management systems.
Pro-active and results-oriented mindset, with a track
record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to
motivate and develop teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a
team.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to
foster positive relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
Flexibility to travel to various store locations
across Kenya when necessary.
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, within
deadlines, multitask and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and
ERP software is an added advantage.
