Communications and PR Consultant Job in Kenya

Short Term Contract! (4Months)

Role Objective:

As a Communications and PR Consultant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies, plans to enhance brand reputation, drive business growth, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. I additional to that, you shall be responsible for enhancing our client’s reputation and image through effective communication strategies and targeted public relations efforts.

About the Client:

Our client is a leading and busy Events Planning and Management Company based in Nairobi and has resources and equipment to bring events from mere ideas to reality. The firm is involved in every aspect of planning, management and execution letting their clients focus on their core business.  

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Prepare content for internal and external business purposes

Develop and implement strategies for brand marketing

Update the company’s approach to social media and other online platforms

Work with company’s sales and marketing team to develop creative strategies or solutions

Develop and execute a strategic communication plan to enhance the company’s brand image and reputation

Create engaging content for various channels, including press releases, articles, blogposts, social media posts, and website content

Manage and maintain positive relationships with media contacts, key stakeholders to and maximize brand exposure

Develop and manage internal communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all departments

Plan and coordinate media events, press conferences, and product launches successfully

Monitor media coverage and social media conversations to for relevant and appropriate action

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide communication support for various initiatives, such as product launches, corporate announcements, and crisis management

Manage the company’s social media presence, including content creation, community management, and monitoring of social media channels

Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives using various analytics tools and provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvement

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication technologies to ensure the company remains competitive in the market

Any other duties as assigned pertaining the role

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field

Proven experience & Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated communication strategies across multiple channels

Proven work experience as a PR & Communications Manager or PR Consultant in relevant industry

Strong portfolio showcasing excellent written and verbal communication skills, including press releases, articles, and social media content

Proficiency in using communication and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Office

Suite, project management software, CRM, analytical tools and social media management tools

Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices in content optimization for search engines is a plus

Professional certifications are an added advantage
