The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military
Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military

This position will be in support of HJFMRI Global activities and based out of
Nairobi, Kenya.
HJFMRI is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to provide support to employees or internal customers in resolving moderately complex or escalated technology issues. Ensures the proper day-to-day operation of internal technology applications and equipment. Installs, diagnoses and repairs computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment; conducts preventative maintenance on hardware and software on a scheduled basis; analyzes and corrects problems with assigned systems and associated components; troubleshoots and repairs computers, monitors, printers and scanners, data projectors, and other related peripheral equipment; provides end user training and support of existing and future applications modules which includes mobile devices assigned to HJFMRI employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2
IT support to HJF employees globally.
- Inspect the use
of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and
efficiency.
- Manage desktop
support tickets ensuring support SLAs are met.
- Administer core
Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print and File shares.
- Support Macs and
Windows PCs in an enterprise environment
- Work with
technology vendors to facilitate equipment repair or troubleshooting.
- May perform
other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the
supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required
training for role.
Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum 5 years
of increasingly responsible experience working as a computer support
technician supporting multiple sites with a variety of computer equipment,
operating systems, and applications software in a multi-vendor
environment.
- Experience
supporting MacOS and Windows 7, 8.x, 10 in an enterprise environment
- Experience using
Google Apps (Google Mail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.)
Education
and Experience
- Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer Science
- Microsoft Office
365 Administration experience
- CompTIA
Security+ preferred
