Sales Assistant Job in Kenya

We seek to recruit sales assistant under the commercial sales department reporting to the Medical Detailer, Eldoret. The sales assistant will provide vital support to the Commercial Sales team in selling the Company’s products and services. The holder of this position will be responsible for finding and winning new customers as well as looking after existing customer accounts with the main objective of ensuring availability of company products, execution of the company products in the outlets as per Picture of Success and Distributor management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep in contact with existing customers in person and by phone
  • Make appointments with and meet new customers
  • Agree on sales, prices, contracts and payments
  • Meet set sales targets
  • Promote new products and any special deals
  • Advise customers about delivery schedules and after-sales service
  • Record orders and send details to the sales office 
  • Provide feedback on sales trends

Knowledge, skills and attitudes


  • Certificate/Diploma in Sales or a business related course

Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years’ FMCG sales experience in retail
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication and ‘people skills’.
  • Confidence, motivation and determination.
  • The ability to work well on your own and also as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to deal with rejection.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to develop in-depth knowledge about your products and markets.
  • Good business sense and a professional manner.
  • A valid driving license
