This role
will be based in Lwala and Rongo Satellite Offices and other areas of our
operation The ICT Assistant will report to the ICT Officer.
Job
Summary
Lwala
seeks the service of a highly motivated and technically skilled ICT Assistant
who will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for the ICT
infrastructure and network across all offices. The person will offer onsite and
offsite support to the satellite offices. He/she will work with users to ensure
smooth operation maximizing network functionality and troubleshooting any
issues that may arise.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Provide
support to satellite offices in implementing corrective and preventive ICT
solutions for day-to-day operations.
- Install,
maintain, and troubleshoot all network equipment, including computers,
peripherals, and accessories.
- Conduct
regular preventive maintenance on IT equipment to ensure optimal
performance.
- Provide
proactive and reactive IT support to LCA end users, improving network
functionality and resolving technical issues.
- Collaborate
with office management to maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets
and consumables.
- Deliver
effective training to LCA colleagues on the use of network and computer
peripherals.
- Assist
in generating reports for the IT department to track performance and
identify trends.
- Safeguard
the integrity of the network, database, and file storage infrastructure.
- Manage
user access and administer appropriate security measures.
- Maintain
reliable internal and external communication systems in satellite offices.
- Actively
monitor all IT equipment and infrastructure components, including
computers, printers, routers, switches, internet cables, and wireless
networks.
- Assist
with the procurement of hardware, software, and IT support services to
optimize costs and performance.
- Identify
technology gaps within the organization and propose relevant solutions in
consultation with the ICT team.
- Work
with various satellite offices to identify their technological needs and
requirements, providing guidance and recommendations on ICT solutions to
meet specific needs.
- Any
other task as may be assigned
Qualifications
and Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certification
in Networking (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA) is
preferred.
- Training
in computer maintenance and repair is advantageous.
- Minimum
of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an
organization with multiple locations.
