Duties and Responsibilities

  • This is the entry and training grade for Diploma holders in agricultural engineering related courses. An officer at this level will be deployed at the sub-county level or attached to an irrigation scheme.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:


  • Assisting in irrigation planning, surveying, design and development services
  • Assisting in irrigation and farm mechanization extension service delivery;
  • Supervising machinery in the field to ensure quality work output with proper utilization and maintenance of machinery;
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor;

Qualification ;

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:

  • Kenyan Citizenship
  • Must be in possession of a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Agricultural Engineering/ Soil and Water Engineering/ Irrigation/Farm Power or Surveying or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Having at least 1-year practical experience will be an added advantage.
  • Certification in CAD applications.
