Qualifications
For appointment to this
Grade, an officer must have:
- A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience,
three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory role;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Information
Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT
Project Management, Computer Engineering or any other relevant and
equivalent from a recognized Institution;
- Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: –
Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software
Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or any other
relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- A minimum of any two (2) certifications from relevant
professional bodies in either CCNP, CDCP, CCNA Cloud, CCNA Industrial/IoT,
CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, N+, A+ OCA, CISSP, Linux+, Network+, Microsoft
Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CISA, CISM, CGEIT or any other relevant
and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
- CISA Membership or an equivalent ICT professional body;
- Certificate in Management course lasting not less than four
(4) weeks from a recognized institution; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the
Constitution.
Duties and
responsibilities
- Installing and maintaining computer systems;
- Analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing
computer programs;
- Configuring Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network
(WAN);
- Providing user support;
- Configuring Local Area Network and Wide Area Network;
- Developing and updating application systems;
- Carrying out systems analysis, design and programs
specifications in liaison with users;
- Drawing up hardware specifications for Information Communication
Technology equipment;
- User and Systems Support and Logging of incidents;
- Verifying, validating and certifying Information
Communication Technology equipment;
- Ensuring effective working of systems for efficient service
delivery;
- Configuring new Information Communication Technology
equipment; and
- Implementing systems and network security.
