Duties and
Responsibilities
An officer at this level will be responsible for;
Cleaning of glassware and apparatus
for teaching and research;
Dusting of all equipment used for
teaching and research;
Ensuring the storage of
chemicals/materials in clean, well labeled shelves arranged in order;
Keeping the Laboratory clean, proper
arrangement of the laboratory;
Setting of equipment for practical’s
and demonstrations;
Collection and preparation of teaching
and research materials;
Ensuring safe keeping and disposal of
waste left behind after practical’s:
Carrying out basic routine analysis in
relevant discipline in the laboratory;
Supervising Technical Assistants; and
Performing any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-
Have Diploma in relevant discipline or
its equivalent from a recognized institution;
Have computer skills in relevant
packages from a recognized institution;
Have served in the grade of Assistant
Technician or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3)
years;
Be licensed or licensable by the
relevant professional body; and
Have shown merit.and ability as
reflected in work performance and results.
