We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team.
The Procurement Officer will be
responsible for leading the procurement process, ensuring that the organization
has the necessary supplies and equipment to carry out its operations. The role
involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and
monitoring the quality of goods and services delivered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement procurement policies and procedures that ensure
compliance with organizational standards, legal regulations, and ethical
practices
- Manage procurement processes, including purchase
requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts, ensuring they are processed
efficiently and accurately
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, using criteria such
as price, quality, delivery speed, and vendor reputation
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain favorable terms
and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure that goods and services
are delivered on time, to specification, and at the agreed price
- Manage relationships with suppliers, resolving issues as they
arise and identifying opportunities to improve supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions,
including invoices, contracts, and purchase orders
- Manage and update the asset register
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in
procurement, incorporating new approaches and techniques into the
organization's procurement processes
- Provide reports on procurement activities to finance
management, highlighting key issues and areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain
management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Mature Christian who is supportive of the beliefs, calling
and vision of Beacon of Hope
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills, analytical and problem-solving
abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software
- Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations
