County Administrator
The Collaborative Centre
for Gender and Development is looking for suitable candidates to fill the
position of County Administrator in the following areas; Garissa, Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera,
West-Pokot, and Samburu.
The candidate will be
reporting to the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence
Coordinator & Administration Support Officer.
Tasks and
Responsibilities
The County Administrator
shall take charge of the county-based implementation of program/project action
plans and shall perform the following among other
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, mobilizing and conducting community
awareness on FGM, GBV, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
- Document and keep daily records of events as well as
consolidate weekly reports to the program
- Work with government stakeholders to support coordination
efforts on the county level of FGM, GBV, Mental Health and Psychosocial
Support.
- Work with county-based multi-sector working groups and in
particular network of CSO, counselors and Community health promoters to
ensure their active participation and effective reach to the grassroots.
- Work with a network of counselors and Community health
promoters to identify and mitigate FGM, GBV, Mental Health and
Psychosocial Support issues within the program scope.
- Work with CCGD Finance to manage the finances of the project
within the county prudently.
- Work with CCGD communication to ensure relevant messages and
information about the program reaches the target group and serves the
desired purpose.
- Plan and organize FGM, GBV, Mental Health and Psychosocial
Support events in liaison with the coordinator and other staff at CCGD
- Promote good working relations with host CSO and create the
right environment to support the program.
- Receive/host program visitors and assist them appropriately
- Report any developments that may affect the project adversely
or promote it
- Perform any other duties you may be asked to do occasionally
by your supervisor and CCGD
Qualifications
- University degree in humanities and social sciences or other
relevant area or equivalent professional experience with preference given
to gender and humanitarian qualifications.
- Demonstration of good working knowledge/experience with
implementing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) initiatives.
- Minimum 2 years substantive work experience with an excellent
professional track record within NGO management especially in emergency/
humanitarian program implementation.
- Excellent program development and report writing skills.
- Experience or familiarity with managing the requirements of
institutional donors.
- Proven skills in developing and leading teams delivering on
performance targets.
- Budget monitoring and management Proven management ability
and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Ability and willingness to work in an insecure and
unpredictable environment with movement
- Gender and other religious and cultural diversity/Sensitivity.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities in
personal workload
