Safety Audit & Inspection Manager Job in Kenya - NTSA

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation established through an Act of Parliament; Act Number 33 of 26th October 2012. The Authority is mandated with effectively managing the road transport sub-sector, minimizing road traffic accidents and loss of lives resulting therefrom.

Pursuant to this mandate, the Authority seeks to recruit highly motivated, visionary, dynamic and results oriented candidates to fill the under mentioned positions:

MANAGER, SAFETY AUDIT & INSPECTION (GRADE NTSA 4) – REF NTSA/05/2023/13

The office holder will be responsible to the Deputy Director, Road Safety Inspection and Audit for planning, organizing, administration and control of activities in Road Safety Inspection and Audit Department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing reports on Road Safety Audits, Road Safety inspections , Road Safety Impact Assessment, Accident Investigations etc

Preparing progress reports and monitoring the implementation of design standards and guidelines

Working with consultants on road safety issues and preparing progress reports on consultancies

Preparing Proposals for funding by development partners

Monitoring road agencies on road safety compliance on audits of road safety and network safety performance

Monitor implementation of Black spot programme by other agencies

Analyzing staff performance and career progression and making appropriate recommendations,

analyzing the utilization of the human resource in the Department and advising on proper transfers; and

Ensuring correct interpretation and implementation of policies, rules and regulations, supervising junior officers and managing the duty

Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution;

Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines from a recognized institution will be an

added advantage;

At least ten (10) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at a middle management position in a large organization;

Attended Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, administrative capabilities and initiative in the general organization and management of Road Safety and a thorough understanding of the Authority’s policies;

A registered engineer with the engineering board; and

Proficiency in Computer skills
