Duties and
responsibilities at this level will entail:
Driving a motor vehicle as authorized;
Carrying out routine checks on the
vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure, etc;
Detecting and reporting malfunctioning
of vehicle systems;
Maintenance of work tickets for
vehicles assigned;
Ensuring security and safety for the
vehicle on and off the road;
Safety of the passengers and/or goods
therein;
Maintaining cleanliness of the
vehicle.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this
scale, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary
Education mean grade D plain or its approved equivalent qualification;
Valid driving license free from any
current endorsement (s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) an officer is required to
drive;
Attended a First-Aid Certificate
Course lasting not less than one (1) week at any recognized Institution;
Passed Suitability Test for Driver
Grade III;
Passed Practical Test for Drivers
conducted by the respective Ministry/ Department;
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from
the Kenya Police;
At least two (2) years driving
experience;
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6
of the Constitution

In addition to the above indicated requirements,
applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of
the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
The following clearances will be required from successful candidates upon offer
of job and not at the application stage.
Certificate of Good Conduct;
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti –
Corruption Commission;
Certificate of Compliance from the
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax
Compliance Clearance; and
Certificate of Clearance from the
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
