Pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Sections 59, 65 and 70(1) of the County Governments Act, 2012, the Nakuru County Public Service Board invites applications from competent and qualified officers currently serving in Nakuru County Public Service on Permanent & Pensionable terms of service to fill the following vacancies.
PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT
PHYSIOTHERAPIST (5 POSITIONS) – VACANCY No. 03/PROM/2023/07
Qualifications
- Served
in the grade of Chief Assistant Physiotherapist for a minimum period of
three (3) years;
- Diploma
in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution;
- Certificate
in management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a
recognized institution;
- Certificate
of registration from the physiotherapy council of Kenya (PCK)
- Current
certificate of practice from physiotherapy council of Kenya (PCK);
- Certificate
in any computer application skills; and
- Shown
merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
Responsibilities
- Treating
and rehabilitating patients/clients using physiotherapy intervention
- i.e.
Electrotherapy, manipulative therapy/technology, exercise therapy among
other in clinical areas and the community;
- Planning
and organizing group physiotherapy treatment/session for patients and
clients;
- evaluating
treatment outcomes for review, placement, referral or discharge;
- Carrying
out physical disability assessment for categorization, registration and
other support;
- Providing
health appointment and education to patients/clients on neuro
musculoskeletal disorder and health living to prevent non-communicable
diseases;
- Maintaining
information and records relating to patients;
- Inducting
students on practical training on physiotherapy services;
- Requisitioning
and ensuring availability and proper utilization of physiotherapy supplies
and equipment as well as giving support and health education to patients
and relatives in hospital;
- Maintaining
equipment’s and inventory;
- Analyzing
data and preparing reports; and
- Coaching
and mentoring of staff
