Title: Director, Finance
Division: Finance
Department: Finance
Position
reports to: Executive Director
Position
supervises: Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, Credit controller,
Management Accountant.
Purpose
of the Job: To glorify God by providing strategic
leadership in business, financial planning and financial management. Formulates
policies and sets up systems and processes that would safeguard the
financial resources, and lead to attainment of set goals and objectives.
Key
Result Areas:
The
jobholder’s accountability areas are as follows:
· Successful
planning budgeting, utilization and reporting on financial resources assigned
to the division
· Effective
and optimal organization of assets and resources assigned to the division
· Maximisation
of productivity in the division through process-oriented improvements
· Continuous
process improvement of services offered by the division
· Continuous
monitoring of SLAs, Governance policies, Risk and Compliance policies
implemented in the division
· Successful
implementation of the division’s strategic goals and key strategic areas
· Successful
planning budgeting, utilization and reporting on financial resources assigned
to the division
· Effective
and optimal organization of assets and resources assigned to the division
Knowledge
and Skills Required:
The
jobholder must possess:
· Master’s
in business administration, finance or related field; Bachelor’s degree in
business administration, finance or related field;
· Professional
qualifications in CPA (K), ACCA, ACA or any other recognized professional
accounting qualification;
· Should
be a member of ICPAK or equivalent internationally recognized professional body
· Minimum
eight (8) years of experience out of which five (3) must have been in a senior
management role in a similar-sized organization;
· Must
have demonstrated ability to handle divisional budgets, resources, processes,
projects and relationships;
· Should
have thorough knowledge of the industry/sector as well as knowledge of
regulatory
requirements affecting the relevant sector;
· Must be
capable of functioning effectively both as a team player and a team leader;
· Must
demonstrate high level of integrity;
· Should
have high level problem solving and decision-making abilities;
· Should
be result oriented with ability to deliver desired outcome;
· Should
demonstrate ability to identify and respond to risk areas within the division;
· Should
have effective people management and conflict resolution skills;
· Must
have good working knowledge MS office packages and accounting softwares;
· Must be
a born again and committed Christian with evidence of maturity in faith;
· Ability
to translate and communicate biblical values / hospital ethics in personal life
and professional life;
· Must be
an honest person full of integrity in their personal conduct and handling of
job responsibilities.
