Responsibilities

  • Implementing fisheries Policy and research.
  • Developing Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) strategies;
  • Coordinating protection of fisheries ecosystem;
  • Management and licensing of fisher folk and fishing vessels;
  • Coordinating the establishment of technical committees on fish quality and safety;
  • Compiling, reports and briefs;
  • Supervising staff in the ward
  • Implementation of Government projects.

  • Promoting fish farming (Aquaculture) in the Sub County;
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting of fisheries policies and Programmes;
  • Promoting ornamental and sport fisheries in the county

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Management or any other related field
  • Must be at least 2 years’ work experience in related field
  • Computer literate with knowledge on related computer packages
  • Possess Proposal development skills,
  • Good Communication skills,
  • Report writing skills
  • To have resource mobilization skills
